I was a huge fan of Lamont Peterson, and I always rooted for him in his prior bouts, but since getting caught cheating, I just can't support him no longer.

I keep seeing these "Lamont will kill Matthysse" threads/posts popping up as we're coming closer to the fight.

How can you support a very known cheat over a humble warrior?
Lamont Peterson is a likeable individual and a hard worker, respectable indeed, but cheating just isn't acceptable.

Because people may think he will win. Do you have to like the fighter to think he will win

He's in with a great chance of beating Lucas.

But people celebrating the fact that this disgraceful cheater is back on the world stage just isn't commendable, much less rooting for him.

I remember Lamont saying him and his team had something that would clear the entire PED accusation as it was happening, but nothing.....:patsch

So what you don't want any threads saying that Peterson could win

    They're all ****ing cheating.

I like Lamont. Fair enough, he cheated. It's bad but it ain't exactly Margarito.

I dont mind people predicting him to win, I do mind people rooting for him though, and celebrating him.

    He's a cheater.

I like Lamont, will root for him, he was caught...punished...and that's that. I have no problem with anyone feeling like you do, it's fair, I just have always liked Lamont and his brother primarily because of their childhood and things they've overcome. I also like their style and consider each fun to watch. I like Lucas too, and if he wins, I think it would be great for him and probably his best win. Can't go wrong either way, for me personally.

You're very neieve if you think the vast majority of professional athletes aren't cheating in one way or another. That doesn't excuse anything, he was caught and punished...I agree 100% with that, and would support greater penalties, but as it stands I still think he's a good fighter who I enjoy watching fight.

If you're looking for your athletes to be choir boys, you might as well stop watching sports. Peterson had no business doing what he did. However, he's willing to get tested now, he fights the best, and he's always in good fights. Should no one admire the talent and achievements of Carlos Monzon because he killed someone? Should San Francisco Giants fans have turned their backs on Bonds when they knew he was juicing?

If you don't like Peterson, and you never root for him again, that's certainly understandable. However, why should no one be allowed to root for him again? We all make mistakes. Peterson is trying to makeup for his. I'm willing to give him that chance, but I'm also understanding of anyone who doesn't.

    Fair enough.

I'd agree that there's a good likelyhood the lot of them are on some kind of illegal performance enhancer.

Its a big stain on Petersons career though.

He did his time. people derserve a second chance, thats why we live in America. The only person i dont give a 2nd chance is Margarito. he could've killed somebody. Peterson had some so called Testrone in his blood. yes its illegal in boxing terms but did that stop him from getting dropped against bradley or Khan. did that give him super powers to KO those guys??

I have no problem with Peterson back in the game. I hope he wins tommorow
