If your questioning Duran's greatness you should change your name from godhead to pinhead. Leonard was in his prime one of the greatest welters ever and Duran was slightly past his prime ASIDE from having to go up 2 divisions by today's standards. He had one or 2 fights at 147, but Leonard should have destroyed him. Instead Duran almost knocks him out and puts on an ATG performance. Despite his size he fought everyone and anyone disregarding who they were no one had bigger balls or pride than Duran. This lightweight goes out and fights the best 147lber, 154lber, and 160lber and not just of his era, but of ALL-TIME, but Manny or Floyd won't even fight the best of their era.:rofl Pathetic.

Mexican blood but I don't consider him Mexican . He was raised in Panama by his mom, who was from Panama and he was born in Panama. He repped Panama. I will say this though, if I didn't know he was from Panama, I'd think he was Mexican :rofl. ****er looks like some of my uncles ha.

    Excellent post.

As for the video, I'm probably the only one who thinks this may be the greatest victory of his career.

For somene 5'6" and who's natural weight is 135 to fight and beat someone the size of Barkley 6'1 160, a beltholder at middleweight, and trade punches with him the entire fight and come out on top, is absolutely amazing. Barkley had every advantage imaginable. Size, height, reach, power, perhaps speed, and certainly age, and yet Duran found away to prevail.

And he was 38 years old when he did this.

xRedx is going on my blocklist, first the bull**** on this thread, next 'Mayweather is greater than Eder Jofre' coupled with the fact that he intentionally doesn't listen to anything you write so cannot have a discussion, no point..

for one he had a 71-1 record when he fought a "green" Leonard who happened to be a world ****ing champion making his 3rd title fight.... "green" :rofl

    the guy had 100 wins

he won a legitimate lightweight title and had 12 defenses and unified it

the guy won a legit world title at 135
the guy won a legit world title at 160

thats never been duplicated to my knowledge

if you cant see greatness with just those, your blind, but there were much points i could have made

This argument can go against you too. Think about it. You're talking about a 16 yr old right? Who's GREAT at 16? You claim that he fought bums but who knew he wasn't a bum himself? I always like to say that when you start your career, especially at a young age, you're practically unknown yourself, at least to boxing standards (since everyone thinks you're a bum until you prove otherwise). How do you separate yourself from this group? YOU BEAT THEM! Now all of a sudden you're not a bum yourself ha. What makes you think he couldn't lose? You still need to win. I understand some of the criticism guys get for having a record with many "bums" but when you start off that young, it's still a great challenge to keep winning and beating guys who are much older than you at times. You need to use common sense. Many of these kids start off very young. Trying to discredit them for fighting bums at that age is unfair.

What Duran did would still be way more impressive. Duran wasn't P4P the best when facing Hagler and Hagler wasn't 22. Hagler was on a tear and was easily one of the best P4P fighters in the world. Arguably the best.
