Back when they were trying to 'rule' the 168 pound weight class there was hope that Show would give HBO some much needed competition. Sadly it is looking as if they don't know how to do that effectively.

It's not a success when Showtime loses money on it, dumb ass.

It's a bad number cause Showtime needed a million buys to break even/make money.

CBS did a 1 hour documentary on Floyd in prime time just to ramp up the ppv buys. When has any network done a documentary like that? Solid numbers but bad news for Showtime. They got desparate to sign Floyd and are paying for it.

The guy can't be wrong? Here's why I think it did reach 1 million: 1 - Fat Dan was saying it within days of the fight, so no way did they have any where the complete numbers; 2 - The fight had done 800k the week before the fight, a high amount tend to buy the fight very close or even on the day

But but but ... It sold more than Crapiao will sell in the future. Under 1 mill by a 100k is not that big of a loss for a company like showtime. They will recoup the money some kind of way the next few quarters. I wonder what KO'dqiao will make on his next fight. People in comas dont make good business decisions.

870k is bad when they were expecting 1.5m buys. coupled with very heavy promotions (i see them may day commercials on every nba game pre - may4), and a hefty Floyd salary. and to think this occurred on a mexican holiday, against a mexican fighter, with stacked mexican undercard and no UFC competing event. man showtime execs must be feeling real bad about that contract. good for HBO, they knew what was coming. good for boxing fans though as FMJ may have to think who he's gonna fight next.

HBO are pissing themselves silly.Showtime execs are worried being stuck with a horrid contract.Floyd is laughing all the way to the bank.No wonder Floyd is keen on fighting at least twice a year from here on in.
Alvarez vs Cotto will out perform any Floyd fight with the exception of a fight with Alvarez.
Showtime has been out witted by Hayman and boy are they paying for it.
