Froch beating ward in a rematch would surely rank very high Purdy beating Alexander would be a big achievement too


So got me thinking,maybe older fans could help as well as I'm a modern day boxing follower
Which wins made the biggest impression on the world stage and which were the hardest and best achievements by a domestic fighter

These are some I can think off in recent years
Add and grade the ones you rate
Would be nice to come up with a top 10 of British wins on the world stage,I know there are some notable ones from the 70s and other eras that I can't claim to have seen or understood their impact compared to the likes of above

Turpin over Robinson and Honeyghan over Curry are a lot more impressive than anything recent

Of recent times calzaghe over Hopkins is the only good British win I can think of

Question for brits, how dies it feel that every one of your "good" wins is against shot or badly faded greats?

Where's the Brit who beat prime greats?

 

Buchanan dethroning the great Ismuel Laguna in Puerto Rico takes some beating. The fact that he fought outdoors in extreme heat and high altitude makes the win even more imressive, especially since Ken was a pasty skinned Scotsmn not used to the sun
Buchanan never even acclimated to the conditions, he went over days before the fight.
