I agree on the second part. On the first - he is heavier puncher but Orteez had way more snap and speed. Don't sleep on Peterson. He has been with top competition I don't think he will get blown away in that fight. He might get KOed late but the fight will be close.
Wonder if PEDerson will be on PEDS for this fight, afterall, PEDS appear to be legal for Peterson. Also, the fight will be in Peterson's country, Peterson's referee and judges, not to mention Peterson's commentators. The cheating in the Khan fight was a total disgrace..........Then we find out that Matthysse's house was broken into and the robber destroyed Matthysse's passport! Did Peterson has something do to with that? Something is very fishy. Sportsbooks tap Matthysse to defeat Peterson Lucas Matthysse is a -225 favorite to defeat IBF jr welterweight champion Lamont Peterson (+175)
hahahahahaha!!! whenever farmboxer posts his nonsense i picture billy bob's half ******ed character in sling blade with the ****ed up voice being like "duurrrrrrrrp void is void durrrrrrrrrp" farmboxer= http://www.ifc.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/billy-bob-thornton-sling-blade.jpg
:rofl ...on a side note, I had a drunken dream last night that Peterson gave Matthysse the Mosley-Margarito treatment. Don't expect that to happen, but that fight showed a variety of things Peterson could do to have success - control the tempo from the outside, counter precisely, dig in hard to the body, push the bullying fighter back, and smother his work on the inside. That said, I'm still picking Matthysse to get him out of there. He has underrated timing and I think that it will, along with his power and investment in body punching, force a stoppage in the middle rounds.
None of us are saying Matthysse won't hurt Peterson or put him on his ass. We just reckon that Peterson has excellent recuperative abilities and has it in him to adjust and find his way back in the fight. And we're certainly not saying that Peterson will stop him. This thread is just asking how Matthysse will react -- will he slow down, be deterred, grow frustrated, or even stunned -- should Peterson grow stronger and return heat of his own - something which he's very capable. I agree with the above poster who referred to the Mosley-Margarito fight, in that Peterson will throw haymakers downstairs. Peterson himself has been mentioning this (bodywork) regularly in his interviews. Seriously, guys, don't expect Peterson to be intimidated and crumble. He'll be looking to show the world that Matthysse is human.
Just messin'. That dude hit hard, man. Peterson's chin can be shaken, but ain't nobody hurt him like that before.
