True ,L ,but you could say the same about a few of Langfords contemparies,and also ,how would Jeffries have done against Johnson in 1905?There is no doubt Johnson avoided the best black fighters after he became Champ ,his legacy rests ,really,on his work before he became Champ.What credit you give him for that is personal opinion.
You know that I rate Johnson pretty high, but I just wrote my opinion that his record looks on paper better than it was in reality. For example Camacho, if we 2 for example are newbies and don´t know **** about boxing, we look at boxrec and see him beating SRL by TKO and beating Duran, on paper it looks great, but the reality looks different. But of course, when we compare Johnson with other ATG- HW like Dempsey, his record is much, much better...
