Both Garcia and Matthysse have said they have no desire in fighting Khan after the tournament, because they have bigger aims (Mayweather, of course). Schaefer told him it's a bad idea to wait all that time and risk not being able to get anyone. So he's moving up to 147 to immediately face a champion, Devon Alexander, who'll likely knock him out also.

Say what you want about him, but, for a Brit fighter, he doesn't shy away from challenges overseas.

 

I respect Khan but this will not end well for him..

Didn't Khan ask for Maidana when Maidana was avoided? I remember Roach and Khan specifically asked for Maidana to make a statement. Maybe Khan and Hunter want to do the same with Matthysse. They probably see something they can exploit in his style. Although Maidana did come off that poor performance against Corley, maybe that's why they asked for him. Matthysse isn't coming off no poor performance with this one.
