If Khan's chin and power improves at 147 then he is still a force at World Level..

Khan's **** chin isn't the product of weight. It's the product of being cursed with a **** chin.

Furthermore, I think the weight excuse is bull****. Khan never struck me as a guy who was starving himself to make 140. I think 140 is his natural division. It's not like he's tall with a huge frame at 140, like Oscar was. He's just a tall, lanky junior welterweight.

Weight is simply a way for him to justify to the media why he failed at 140.

147lbs will not be a comfortable weight IMO. There is a very high chance that the effect of his punches decreases in the move up in weight. He has not shown real power punching at 140lbs, we have seen boxers walk through his punches at times, but he has been able to stun and wobble opposition from time to time. He will be facing much bigger men, who hydrate to much bigger weights, who will have been sparring much bigger men themselves, who will have been taking punches (a lot of the time power punches) from much bigger men in bouts.

Aside from the speed factor (which we have seen can be negated) his physical tools don't transition well to the higher weight. He is not a big guy, he will be a small WW facing men with a lot more strength who a lot of the time will be able to walk through his punches and bully him physically.

Funny how idiots like you still buy into the "weight will improve Khan's chin" theory. Didn't he say the same at 135 only to go to 140 and get sparked?, now the same thing is being said at 140. You're either too young, deluded or a straight up moron.

Well he is saying he starts sparring at 155lbs and KD and KO sparring parnters at that weight but when he is cutting down to 140 he is losing muscle and power, he believes his natural fighting weight is 147, he can then rehydrate upto maybe 155lbs.

I think his lack of power and balance his due to his skinny legs, they need to be beefed up a bit, them extra 7lbs can help them to and keeping his upper body near the same for retaining his hand speed his main asset.

All sounds like excuses to me. :conf

His lack of power is the fact that he has never had real power. Don't get me wrong, he has a lot of snap in his shots when he sits down on his punches, but he has never had shocking power.

His balance is due to his footwork, not the size of his legs.

The extra 7lbs will offer more disadvantages than advantages IMO, like I pointed out in my last post.

Why would his power or chin improve going up in weight?

I don't care what he says, he's not draining himself to make 140. That's complete BS. The dude's small at 140.

How many fighters with power did his team carefully select in the division?

    Check your facts, curry breath.

you can't improve your chin and punch resistance, only your defense and ability to avoid getting hit, it's been said many times here, why don't people understand this>?

It's possible that not cutting weight will help his chin and power.
I think the beating he took of Garcia and to a lesser degree Maidana may have ruined him though

Maidana - Remember what happened after he landed his very first flush shot?

Judah - Only a curry maker would bring that up as if Judah was any competent.

Peterson - He's a power puncher now?

Garcia - Replacement for Peterson and a mistake similar to Prescott, which is why Khan doesn't even mention his name anymore. Garcia, who had power and ability for a change, sparked him despite being picked on short notice. :rofl
