Lucas Matthysse said he wants to fight Manny Pacquaio

After Pac demolishes Rios, there's no way Matthysse can beat Pacman.

Tough fight for both. I see Manny being dropped before I see Lucas being dropped though.

 

Matthysse would retire Pacquiao.

By the time Pac/Rios happens, Matthysse will already be unified at 140 and looking for a fight early next year. That would definitely put him in the running for Manny and Floyd (if the Marquez V and Alvarez fights don't come off).

Wouldn't mind him taking a tuneup fight against Khan or Broner first and then taking on Manny or Floyd next May, preferably Pacquiao because the clock is ticking on his career.

Either way, next 3 fights for Matthysse should be HUGE as far as money and exposure go. I'd like to see him go the route of Garcia, Broner, then Pacquiao. Imagine him winning all 3 (especially by KO). The demand to fight Floyd would be immense.

 

OP got it wrong (again).

He didn't say he actually wants to fight Pac. He was just asked about what it was like to be called the new Pacquiao, and he just basically said in a joking manner.... "It's great to be compared to him, but I'd much rather fight with him".... which everyone laughed with. That's all.

Conflicting promoters keep it from happening. Would be easy work for Lucas Matthysse.

 

That fight will never happen but I would have to see how Manny looks against Rios before I say who would win. I will say I don't think Manny should get into a brawl with Matthysse.

 

Are you saying that this does not mean he wants to fight him? I took what he said to mean: "I do not want to be called the New Pacquiao, I want to fight Pacquiao." what would you say he meant? All fighters in that weight range want to fight Pac or Floyd to make that big paycheck

 

He's smarter than I thought. He knows his best chance is against PEDcquiao. After losing to so-so technicians liek Judah and Alexander, Lucas knows better than to challenge a grand master technician like Floyd.

 

Would be a good fight for the fact that IMO Pac has the power make Matthysse respect him, speed to beat Matthysse to the punch, and the foot speed to make Matthysse miss. Pac got knocked out with beautiful footwork and technique and timing by his kryptonite.

Of course that fight will never happen and Arum and Pac won't be criticized by the same ppl that are quick to talk **** about everyone else.

 

I think he already said he would like a fight with Mayweather.
