From memory Hearns, Leonard etc used to weigh in on fight night. Unlike fighters of today. They could probably have dropped a division under today's rules.

Floyd is being compared to those guys as a welterweight. Nobody is comparing him - or shouldn't be - to a LHW Hearns.

Hearns is judged on fights 2,3 and 4 weight classes above where he started. Why shouldn't Floyd be?

Realistically, how low could Floyd fight at? 140? Would be hard for him I think. He seems not to ever be carrying any excess weight between fights. That's extremely commendable, but means you'll never get stories of him dropping huge amounts if weight in training. He simply doesn't gave a great deal to lose in the first place.
