I just dont know about him a part of me thinks he is really talented , underrated even. But then I think he hasnt really fought anyone of note that you would consider a top level fighter has he? De Marco is a solid fighter but will we see Broner pull out an amazing performance against better fighter? I see him beating Paulie but after that I think we will find out where he stands when he fights the better crop at 140-147 what you think?
Hard to say do to the competition he has fought. He has looked great against not so good fighters and hasn't looked good against ok fighters. Was weight an issue? Who knows. I think he definitely has athleticism, but he seems really immature and not sure how that will effect him in the long run.
he must be pretty good to jump 2 weight divisions and be an 8-1 favorite against the guy with the title he is fighting
There are the Broner haters who call him all hype, and then they are the delusional fanboys who claim he is the next Mayweather Jr; honestly I think the truth is in between. Broner has the potential to be a long titleholder, and retire as a great champion. Do I see ATG potential in him? Absolutely not. He doesn't have the footwork, isn't honestly all that hard to hit, and I am starting to doubt his dedication. Love or hate Mayweather, I don't think anyone can deny he is quite possibly the hardest worker in the game, he is a complete gym rat. Broner doesn't show this same discipline and motivation, he is out getting plastered, eating out strippers, you can kind of tell he doesn't have the drive to truly be great. I think it's ridiculous when people compare him to Mayweather Jr, as someone who watched all of Mayweather's fights, he showed far more potential than Broner has at his age. To summarize, I think Broner will retire as a solid, maybe even a great champion, but will never get close to sniffing ATG status.
He's a champ.. he is good. But his opponents aren't great As Paulie said, DeMarco is the only win he gives props for. (A fight I think DeMarco fought terribly in) Lost to PDL and Quintero. Let's see how he deals with Paulie (who you have to admit is pretty tough and knows his stuff)
Well his biggest test this far has been Demarco. Paulie will be a competitive fight, but I expect Broner to win close. After that, let's see him in with some of the big dogs at 40/47. Way too early to tell how great he can be.
I think he can be an ATG!! some very good fighters around his weight class. I think he can be almost as good ad Mayweather and might not never lose
Paulie fight tell A LOT. People are u8nderestimating 1.Paulie as a fighter 2. How big a step up it is from 135 to 147. Suddenly hes not going to look so big and powerful. Hes not going to be able to just blast Paulie out of there.
Its hard to stand behind him jumping 2 weight classes. For one, it makes him look like he is ducking the toughest division at 140. Two, I don't think it is good for his body. Lastly, if he looks like **** he'll be forced to go to 140 and I think its just a tad bit early for him to be there just yet. Paulie is a good choice for first 147 opponent though as he couldn't drop a flyweight.
the upcoming fight with paulie is going to tell me a lot about broner and his future just like everyone else is saying no bull**** broner is no joke though, young guy him and alvarez are two big fighters getting attention right now at a young age...going to be interesting to see how it pans out for the both of them
hard to tell. He could be one of those guys who fights the wrong style and gets knocked out and never recovers like Curry. No I am not saying Broner is at the level Curry was when he fought Honeyghan, but those kinds of fights change a fighter. .
If he focus on just the money, we will have a new Mike Tyson-type story in a few years i think. But another question, how heavy is Broner on fight night? From what i have seen he look twice as big as his oppnents in his fights, so he got a HUGE advantage in size.
