I can understand where he is coming from why even bother doing something if it doesnt make any sense.
Why keep doing something if you only lost money on it

I wish more fighters would speak out about this. I think Cholish spoke about it pretty fairly. I'm glad he has a good job that he can fall back on. There's no sense in going out there and risking injury just to lose money or, at best, break even.

I have wondered for years how the scrubs that make even 16k a fight survive under these conditions. Almost half of the 16k goes to taxes then you have training expenses plus food then cornermen etc.

It is a ****ing joke. Why get your face bashed in for so little money?

The lowest basic salary is very poor. The UFC could argue that they are giving these fighters an opportunity, they are on the prelims, entry level type fighters etc However the UFC can't market itself as the NFL of MMA and then have fighters who are supposedly so low/entry level that their wage is $4-8k.

I was suprised to find out the fighters must cover hotel bills etc I thought at they very least the UFC would support travel and accommodation. Their Vegas fights alone could probably get free hotel rooms for their fighters. It's good business for the hotels to have the fighters walking around, drawing attention etc
