Does Mattaysse hit harder P4P than Julian Jackson and David Tua?

IMO, it's one of the great matchups of the past 5 years. It's not often that you get two fighters of similar levels peaking at the exact same time.

You can't really analyze Matthysse by the Zab and Alexander fights and apply it to a match with Garcia. Both are southpaws with elite speed and aren't all that easy to find.

Garcia is rangy and wily, but he is in love with his left hook (particularly against orthodox fighters) and is bound to get caught trading at some point. He's just not quick enough to stay away from Lucas.

Matthysse, on the other hand, tends to get very wild and literally fell on the floor throwing a left hook the other night... yet people around here are touting his supposed great skill. atsch

These aren't HOF level talents, which makes the fight all the more compelling.

 

No, Jackson's a clear level above him. Tua as well, though he was always a lot more limited as a fighter. Both men repeatedly put guys' lights out with one or two shots.

Lucas has naturally very heavy hands though, and puts his punches together well, a little like Tszyu did back in the day. Has that mean streak of Valero as well. Good combination.

Needs to tighten it up a bit though. He sometimes goes awfully wild with his hooks.
