Floyd has fought at 130 before does mean he should move down and fight there ? Canelo is a jmw he cant make 147 if he could've he would of continued fighting there to pick up a title like wanted to. Canelo is a jmw just like Cotto because they cant go any lower

Anyway isnt Floyd a champion at 154? Whats the problem with fighting in a weightclass he's a champion in ? Talk about avoiding the best challenges as usual

He should take the fight, demand a rehydration clause of 2/3 pounds above Cotto's fight night weight.

Heres the thing, nobody minds Mayweather fighting at 154. actually Mayweather might want to fight at 154. why u ask?? BECAUSE HE HASNT SAID A WORD!!! So what if were in here arguing about nothing?

I do think Canelo is very big and Mayweather will probably have a cap of 10 pound over. so Canelo can only come in at 164. I think Cotto was 160+, Oscar was 168, so 10 pounds after weigh seems fair to me. If your Canelo (which no of us are) How can u not say yes to that?? Have the chance to be one of the most if not the most famous person in the world overnight if u beat Mayweather?? Canelo will do it

People are praying that Floyd wants Canelo at 147 just so they have something to moan about. :-(

Im honestly surprised Floyd hasn't jumped at this opportunity. Floyd Sr saw how fast Canelo gasses and he loves that weakness, and while Canelo wld probably weigh a few more pounds than Cotto did, theres alot of holes in Canelos game for Floyd to pick up on. All this in addition to the large amount of extra PPV he wld make.

I never said Canelo could make 147. My only point is that just because someone did something in the past doesn't mean they should be required to do it in the future. I personally think there is no problem with the fight taking place at the JMW limit, and I hope that's what happen. Lets be real though, Mayweather is the draw. He has the clout to ask for a catch weight if he really wants one, Canelo should comply as long as it isn't more than a couple of lbs. This wouldn't be unprecedented. Cotto was the WBA champ at JMW and demanded a CW against Margo. Hoya was a MW champ and demanded a CW against Hopkins.

Didn't Ole' Fishnets shoot down the idea of letting Alvarez fight Baby Chavez @ 160 when that fight was being discussed? Didn't Ole' Fishnets insist on a catchweight between 154 and 160?

    That's speculation

Martinez was 170+ on fight night
Junior was 158 24 hours before the fight
To just assume that Junior was 190 or whatever, and somehow dehydrated 30+ lbs and put that on in 24 hours, is pretty wild. If a guy has to rehydrate 15lbs just to be as big as you are then you know that any size advantage he gains is going to be balanced by how horribly dehydrated he was.

The difference is Martinez, coming in 170+, is a full size guy at 160. Floyd, coming in less than 154 at 154, is a bit of a special case.

Void had no problem fighting Cotto at 154, so why not Alvarez? Martinez offered to fight Void at 150, but Void refused. Void refused to fight Pac, Paul Williams, you name it................but Void did just fight a featherweight. Another woman next?

I actually think Canelo's size will hurt him against Momey. Canelo's size and stamina will be cons, not pros.

There's no point in this fight. apart from being a heavyweight on fight night there's nothing canelo as a boxer brings here.
Canelo hasnt really fought anyone. He has been fed small guys like lopez and Hatton to make him look good while avoiding the likes of Lara. He needs to fight some real 154lbs fighters then after that this fight can be made.
IMO DEVON Alexander, Tim Bradley deserve a shot at Mayweather. These are guys who have fought the best fighters in their own divisions where there was an equal risk of losing. They have not been protected fighters and they deserve a shot at Mayweather because Mayweather's the best 147lbs fighter.
I do not see why canelo has his own way always. all other fighters have had to make adjustments for big fights and i just hope and pray team Mayweather stick to their guns and never flinch a pound by fighting at 147lbs.
