Fine, but if you're going to be like that, your post makes no sense.

And Rudyard is right, you can't have a conversation with you about Bute without you going ape**** at the first sign of non-manlove for Bute.

There are people trying to keep it real in your thread, but you're the one who prevents any measured discussion.

Where the **** are Badlok,Cloudz and DeceBal anyway.

My theory about this injury is giving me the same feeling I had when I predicted Froch would destroy Bute, only this time I'm not happy about it.
Bute is an easy target but I want to see this Pascal fight so I hope I'm wrong.

Say it's true(and I tend to believe it) but it doesn't have relevance.

Considering it's true it doesn't tell us Bute is a better fighter when healthy,it tells us Bute is a injury prone fighter who will most likely hurt his hand every fight.

Bute is not making excuses for losing to Froch here, is he? Instead, he is telling people why he is not committing the mistake of fighting injured again, particularly now that the injury is even worse.

Why does he tell people this? Because people are accusing him of ducking Pascal. They are saying that he had no intention of fighting Pascal in the first place - that he will fight lesser fighters next instead, to ensure he wins. So Bute is telling them that the Pascal fight is not cancelled but only postponed. He is telling people he intends to fight Froch again after Pascal - that he aspires to fight the best.

To the people who are saying that he should have fought Pascal even injured, "because fighters fight injured all the time", Bute is saying that the injury was too bad for him to be able to compete at all and he doesn't think it's fair to the fans for him to compete knowing he cannot make it competitive.

    Makes sense, doesn't it?

To the people who think Bute is just cashing out, well, if he was just cashing out, he'd have fought Pascal badly injured and retired, no? The fans in Montreal will not pay to see Bute fight 2-3 more tune-ups before stepping up. Everyone knows this.

Bute is not making excuses for losing to Froch. He didn't make excuses after the fight either. But he did explain at various times why he was not at his best when he fought Froch. Just like Froch explained at various times why he was at his best when he fought Bute. That's all.

Bute wasn't as good as Bute fans thought he was/hyped him. Sure.

    Bute isn't/wasn't great. Sure.

But Bute close to his best can do better than he did against Froch on the night. I see no reason why people would dispute that. It doesn't mean Bute would beat Froch. Just that he wouldn't embarrass himself so. And this is why Bute wants to rematch Froch - to show he isn't as bad as people think he is based on that performance.

Froch will fight Bute not because of the clause but because/if the money makes sense. Froch is in no position to turn down a top 3 payday so why would he not take the fight if he is fit and healthy - and Froch believes he is better than ever since the Bute fight.

Anything else that needs clarifying that I have missed?

Exactly! He never said he might, could, would, he only mentions it once and get's past it fast and actually said Froch won rightful. He mentions the Infiltration as a psychological disadvantage, and nothing more.

I hope you saw from my posts that my main point is that I fear Bute's injury could be career ending, but in regards to the excuses,it's undeniably ironic that he says "I'm not making excuses...but..."
Now that has been said by most world level fighters at some point, including Froch,so it's not a dig at Bute in particular.
    We've all heard it.
I never thought for a minute that Bute was ducking Pascal. As I said,I feel he may be trying to stay positive all the while knowing that at this age,a really bad hand injury could be devastating for his career.
But where I do take issue is that Froch can't wait forever for Lucian to decide he's ready, and what I'm saying is that with this injury and talk of late 2014,the reality may well be very different, and with that injury,he may have more lay offs so the question for me is,how would Bute fans feel if he was able to carry on fighting, but admitted that a rematch with Froch is unlikely?
And as I've said,Bute is an easy target nowadays, but given that some of the most decent people I've spoken to on this forum are Bute fans(one or two of the worst too though!) I wouldn't like to be right in my suspicions about this injury as it would be bad for the people I've mentioned.

Bump this and laugh at me if I'm badly wrong because I hope I am,but I think this injury is worse than being admitted.

Well every fighter does make excuses. It's only natural when a fighter has a great ego. It's hard to take the blame on yourself.

He's not saying this, though. The statements he made weren't about the Froch fight. BeastsideBoxing did a hack-job here and quoted a few lines out of context, making Bute look like he was making excuses for the Froch fight. He wasn't.

This is Bute talking in Romania to the Romanian fans who are typically extremely cynical and prone to over-indulge in conspiracy-thinking. Many Romanians think Bute had/has no intention of ever fighting Pascal or Froch again. That he is just buying time and getting people excited about him, before fighting a lesser fighter he is sure to beat.

Of course. Why shouldn't he be positive? Makes the recovery process better and ensures he is more likely to get back to top form. Remember, his training camp was going really well - he was in great shape - had it not been for this bad injury, we would have expected to see Bute at his best.

Froch will not wait for Bute. If Bute is able to fight Froch next year, Froch will be delighted, because he's making a lot of money. Froch wants the rematch, almost as much as Bute!

Bute's injury is one that is improved with the operation he had. He is recovering as expected. There's no reason to expect he will not get well enough to fight Pascal. After that, he might get injured again, sure. He might never get to fight after the Pascal fight if the injury is careerending, sure. But that doesn't mean that if he is able to and if the fight makes sense (i.e. he doesn't get destroyed by Pascal and the fans still think Bute would have a chance against Froch) the rematch won't happen.

There is no reason for you to think the injury is worse than Bute and his doctors are making it out to be. It's bad enough for him to have required the operation, because he couldn't have continued his preparation and he couldn't have fought without the operation, but if it had been a career ending injury, Bute haters would have readily wanted him to cash out against Pascal injury or no injury.

But he didn't. Because he doesn't want to cheat himself or the fans.

No one knows whether it is because Bute is still recovering. Once the cast comes off, once the bones heal, once the rehabilitation is complete and once he starts punching with it again, then Bute will know. If it turns out the operation hasn't improved matters, Bute will either decide to cash out against Pascal and call it a day (pragmatic move), or, he will retire letting the fans know he cannot perform anymore (classy move).

No point in going on about this again and again, imo. Let's wait and see.

Proof the Bute hasn't made and isn't making excuses:-

Bute said numerous times that he had taken the beating at the hands of Froch really hard. Bute also said that his ego was crushed. He said that he had lost all confidence in himself. He said he lost so much confidence in himself that he didn't even have confidence when fighting Grachev - and that it showed, as we could all see.

Watch the final round against Grachev. This is how a broken man looking desperately for redemption fights. This is not how a confident man who hasn't been affected by the loss fights.

A fighter who makes excuses because he thinks he hasn't really been beaten or because he thinks it was a weird accident that led to his loss doesn't lose confidence. He doesn't act like he lost confidence. Instead, he tells everyone how confident he is and how the loss hasn't affected him at all. He says he is better than the opponent that beat him and he says that he would definitely beat him next time.

i.e. the complete opposite of what Bute did/said.

Compare this to how Froch reacted to the Kessler loss. Froch is making excuses. Bute doesn't. How could he, given the way he got destroyed? If Froch's preparation had gone perfectly, Froch has good reason to think he might have beaten Kessler on the night. Bute on the other hand has no reason to believe that if his preparation had gone perfectly, he would have beaten Froch.

Bute is only saying that he is sure he can perform better if he is at his best. That's all. I cannot see any reason to doubt that his belief is justified. I'm not saying Froch wouldn't stop the best version of Bute. I'm saying Bute is justified in saying he can make it more competitive.

I actually look at the Grachev fight now and wonder if the hand was as much of a factor as the confidence.
And let's be clear here mate,I've stated previously that my thoughts on the injury are no more than a gut feeling.
And as for the excuses,I referenced Froch as having done it before. It was a statement on fighters in general, not just Bute.
But as you say, circles and ****.
