Lucas matthysse the real thing or overhyped

Most of what I believe has been covered so I will just add this.

Out of all the top operators in world boxing right now matthysse is the one I would pay really big money to go watch.

 

He didn't beat Judah IMO, but Alexander is controversial to say the least

 

The Judah fight could have gone either way, I had Matthysse winning 115-113. But can easily make a case for Zab winning. That was Matthysse's first big fight, he's come on leaps and bounds since then.

The Alexander fight was a blatant robbery, Matthysse won that clearly.

 

how can he be viewed as overhyped after his last string of performances

Mattyhsse is a dangerous fighter, the man has bombs for fists.

Garcia deserves a **** load of credit for the fight he fought last night, he stuck to a great game plan and got a well deserved victory.

 

The eye injury had a huge effect on Matthysse

 

It's not like Garcia wasn't the cause of the eye injury lmao.

 

Don't mean to rain on your parade but I think Garcia was given a lot of leeway by the referee in this fight,he held Lucas Matthysse every time he got close and tried to get his shots off and the ref never once warned him,I counted at least four low punches from Garcia as well but for some reason he was only docked one point.Im not saying he didn't fight a great fight he did but it just seemed like the referee was allowing him to spoil in order to protect him from the punches of Matthysse just my two cents.

 

Thoroughly deserved win for Garcia he was just smarter, and he took his licks, and he dished out enough to keep matthyse honest.

Went up a fair bit in my estimation after that
