people never went easy on Ruiz and he had boringly more to offer than Aud, and besides many, many a great fighter is left to forgotten or unknown pages.

Audley Harrison was pretty poor, end of, and for my money the fact that any fighters like him can get running attention is just more evidence of how poor boxing has become!

 

Pretty sure it was meant as a joke.

 

He was an outstanding amateur, and his professional career was not without merit.

What he needs to do now is retire and be remembered for what he accomplished, rather than acting as a trial horse being fed to up and coming fighters.

He should probably have made the decision earlier.

 

Looking back on it, retiring after the come from behind Sprott victory would have been the best option, but I suppose the money was too good for the Haye debacle. He could also have retired after the last Prizefighter and saved a bit of his dignity. Trouble with Audley is he always thinks he's got one roll of the dice. Self-belief is fine, but with Audley it reaches dangerous levels of self-delusion.

I'll never forget when he punched.

 

The fact that a fighter fails to meet high expectations set for them, does not detract from what they did accomplish.

A European Champion walking into the room, would generally be expected to get most peoples undivided attention.

 

Agreed he did ultimately win a European title and beat 3 British Champions. His technique wasn't the best, he was clumsy and wasn't that tough and will never go down as a great but he's had a respectable career.
