Sometimes i wonder why he doesn't stop and think "if this fighter wasn't Mexican would i still feel this way".

    what's so different?

you claim if a fighter downplays an opponent, and if that fighter were to actually win, it would make the win less spectacular...

then, he says if Guerrero had claimed floyd would be "easy work" this and that.. and if he won after saying it, would that make his victory less spectacular?

    .... Your answer?? :think

Because instead of Russell in contrast to Mares...it's Guerrero and Mayweather. The gulf in class is obvious with May/Ghost, no? Russell can beat Mares, it's clear. He's supremely talented and Mares would be a GREAT win for him. He sullies a possible win with this talk.

When Guerrero or his dad engage in this type of banter, and they did, they look like fools, because no one in the right mind believes them. It's just an obvious desperate volley. Russell is better than that, in the ring and out.

    fair enough.. :good

although, i don't think it really matters what the fighter himself thinks or says before the fight.. the fans and odds makers know what type of fight it's gonna be, and that's who's opinion really matters.

every fighter is full of confidence before the bell rings..

Yeah, Rigo said he'd be easy work too. Mares is hypothetical ****. :verysad

Unfortunately, a lot of fans feel this way too. So the wins really wouldn't mean anything. :hey

Russell has the potential to upset Mares but first I'd like to see him beat one good opponent at least. His career is becomin a joke of Andre Direll proportions

Love it. And btw, Russell Jr via KO on that dirty little **** Mares. Only way Mares wins, is if the ref lets him throw 10 low blows in a row.

This could be Russell's 'Corrales'. It just seems out of character for Russell. It's been a while, but I don't remember Mayweather downplaying Corrales back in the day before he ran through him. He just beat his ass and it ended up being a career defining fight.

Yeah, we heard this shitty story already: Agbeko is going to destroy Mares in their second meeting, Moreno will Sweet Pea all over Mares, Mares is too small to even contend with Ponce. I got Mares KTFO out of the hype-job GR. Dude is a ****ing dumbass; if I'm not mistaken, didn't he also say that Mikey Garcia would be easy work. He's a ****ing idiot and no one believes him. Unlike GR, Mikey and Mares have actually fought decent talent. GR fights ****ing tomato cans.

Mares experience and class would be too much for russell. He has not even fought a guy in the top 20 and somebody out there actually thinks he has a chance against the top dog? Seriously?

How is his chin? How is his mental toughness? LOL what happens when those flashy combos don't faze his opponent and will be on his grill all night like mares will be.

I think and hope Mares takes it, I think the level of competition that they have been taking on has been molding them...and it will show in the ring come fight night

Mares keeps on proving the haters wrong again and again.

Mares is the truth, deal with it, bitches.

Gary needs to be fight someone better than C level before Mares even acknowledegs this clown. :deal

    and yeah, Mares by KO.
