Mares a G, an can fight many different styles.

Mikey also a G, patient, well skilled, good power.

Would LOVE to see this fight, Mikey is the favorite, but Mares has a good chance.to win also. Hes an effective pressure fighter, can box.

While Mares would certainly push Mikey with his speed and rough and tumble style, I think he probably get's TKO'd late.

Although Garcia really only has two wins over world class fighters, Salido and Barros, in terms of fighting ability alone he's probably top 5-6 pound for pound in my eyes. His skill, patience, speed, defense, and confidence probably make him unbeatable in the current crop of outstanding featherweights.

There's something almost Arguello-esque about Mikey.

I have said it for a long time. Mikey will be p4p king eventually. Just need the division to heat or he just has to move up which he does have the frame for.

I honestly would like to see him move up to 140

Yes. Salido's pressure was starting to get to Garcia before they stopped the fight. Mares IMO woud give him hell.

50-50 fight imo! I think I'd actually go with Mares even though Mikey's the better boxer i think Mares pressure can break him down.

50-50 fight in my book. Mares and Garcia both have power. It would be a fight of the year, best fight to be made right now. I'd rank it ahead of Canelo/May because these two are my favorite fighters at the moment.

I've learnt to write Mares off at my peril.

I thought he lose to Agbeko in both fights, I also thought Moreno would beat him, and he'd beat De Leon but by robbery.

Would he beat? Garcia? I would guess not (but I don't say that with a great deal of conviction)

Would he trouble Garcia? Hell yeah! (and I do say that with conviction)

Shame we will probably never find out for sure :-(

I think he would push Garcia alot more than most people would give him credit for, but I think Garcia takes it comfortably, wide UD or late stoppage.

I think Mares could make it tight for Mikey, but Garcia is such
is sneaky counterpuncher with REAL power that mares would
def taste canvas. I've thought about this fight before and the
bigger man in garcia takes this fight for my liking.

How was it starting to get to him? He dominated from beginning to end. Nobody had ever done that to Salido. I must watch that fight again because I remember an ass whooping

Nop, it's true that Salido was having his way more and more in the final rounds.
