Well that just tells us how experienced you are in witnessing pro boxers hit. There is no comparison. I've seen just a handful of MMA fighters throw with the mechanics that would produce even near the level of force a seasoned boxer can. And those are the best in their sport. The average MMA fighter's technique in punching is often times sorely lacking and not much beyond that of the average goon. They are very skilled in many areas and I've seen MMA fighters with great hands in the gym, but it's not the norm.
Most of my experience with street fights is from the almost decade I spent working the door. It got me through University and beyond. I have never used boxing in a street or breaking up a fight. I'm not a trained boxer. I was trained in CJJ, which does teach boxing, among bits of most martial arts, but I've never even been in a ring. Now, if you read my comments, you would realize the point I'm getting at is HOPEFULLY a boxer will take out the first 2 guys or so QUICK, to either scare his attackers away or at least make the numbers easier to manage. The MMA fighter that takes the first guy down or starts grappling with him will get ****ed up by the other three. If you dont think this would happen, and the other would admire his use of a triangle choke, YOU'RE living in a dream world. In the case of a multiple attacker situation, boxing gives you the best chance to escape alive. It would be easier to run away when two of the guys are trying to revive 2 of their buddies :smoke
lol, thats CJJ. And ya, the eyes are actually the most painful part of the body. If you can gauge the eyes real quick, that is better than a quick 1-2 because a) it's faster, and b) less chance to injure yourself. However, which mma organization allows eye gauges? I would love to watch that. Put two highly skilled CJJ men in a cage and watch a REAL fight.
And who is this Mike W? He sounds like a killer I would like to avoid in the street. Doesnt he carry a curtain rod around with him as well?? :nut
MMA loverboys still can't wrap their heads around the fact that punching is the most utilized attack in majority of streetfights. Nobody wants to go to the ground. The tendency is to fight on your feet, to remain alert and ready to run in case anything happens. Very few would attempt to lay and pray his opponent/s on the ground or attempt to execute an armbar. ****ers who tried would of probably got their skulls bashed open or arrested by the cops while he is busy rolling on the slimy ground. ****, he'll get arrested before he even executes a full mount. lol Tip for you MMA loverboys, if you will get into a streetfight, practice your punching or bring a gun
