It's a small step in Eddies redemption.

What time is the weigh-in? They said where, just not what time?

I dont mind prizefighter its a great platform that has done wonders for some boxers careers. It just needs to change its format a bit, less shows and a higher standard of competitor

Doesn't redemption always start with a small step? ;)

Sometimes they can be good, they're very hit and miss though.

If I was Eddie I'd try and put say 4 or 5 on a year staggered through out the weights...

    Bantamweight
    Lightweight
    Middleweight
    Light Heavy
    Heavyweight

Something like that so that they are spread out but different.

We've been getting more than one a month at times (or seems that way), 4 a year is a realistic estimate.

They already have one every four years.

    It's called the Olympics.

That's plenty. It's a shiite idea for pro fighting and should be abolished altogether.

I like Prizefighter but Id prefer to have the old Sky format back, the days where we'd get a two hour show of domestic, euro and sometimes world title fights every Friday.Instead we have to wait three and four weeks at a time to see live boxing because Hearn needs to stack his cards, something he still fails to do despite having the creme if British talent at his disposal.

While there will be some who hate the format I think it can have its place on the schedule.
But the problem for me is that too often its used as a replacement for what should be good domestic/European cards. As Jquik alluded to if we had a good live card regularly on or Saturday night, (I would guess rating are better Saturday), coupled with either an occasional prizefighter either midweek or on the Friday it would be a sensible solution.
In my opinion what Matchroom need to do is get back to the basics of putting on regular competitive cards featuring domestic fighters and emerging talent. The big international fights will take care of themselves with Eddies headline fighters always drawing viewers. But boxing fans would get to see more competitive fights even at a lower standard rather than large periods of nothing during which time we're shown what in reality is a bit of a circus freak act to fill the void.
