Delvin Rodriguez vs. Freddy Hernandez, tonight on ESPN2. I must admit I don't know much about either of these guys. Can someone fill me in on the important facts? Any predictions?
Delvin Rodriguez is known for his wars against limited but very tough Pawel Wolak. He lost just about every round against Trout last summer in what is one of Trout's best wins. He then beat up some guy named George Tadahanhooooper on ESPN2 a couple months back. Tadah... barely threw a punch the whole fight and Delvin was working him like a punching bag looking impressive. As for Freddy Hernandez, I think he beat Collazo within the past year? Could be wrong there. I'll always link Freddy with the HBO fight that gave Andre Berto a 1.1 million dollar payday. Freddy looked like **** on the pads in the locker room before the fight, whiffing. I looked over to my buddy and said if I were in Vegas I'd load up on a Berto KO1. And a Berto KO1 did happen... I expect Delvin to have an easy time tonight against Freddy. Or perhaps not easy, but I'd be surprised if he lost.
This. This should be a really nice one on action but Rodriguez is quicker, more polished and just a better fighter. Then again, Del has really been through an awful lot, so maybe the toll will have gotten to him finally. I'm comfortable picking him anyway though. Rodriguez is a great TV fighter, Cable. And his record is that of a hard luck man. Don't buy that he lost all those matches. He got unlucky a few times and outright jobbed in others. Criminal and despicable like.
I'm more interested in the opening bout featuring undefeated Issouf Kinda. Young African phenom fighting out of the Boogie Down Bronx. He's fighting Chris Howard who knocked out Bayan Jargal recently on FNF.
