How much impact did the lack of a heavyweight star helped Floyd Mayweather Jr?

Floyd should thank gatti for his stardon,because that's what catapulted his career and without the gatti fight he would have been just headlining regular hbo or showtime cards.

 

You can't call facts a load of crap. No one I know has ever heard of Floyd. That's a fact. Sorry if it bothers you.


Another fact is: You can get millions of people to pay for something, if you advertise it hard enough. Sure, there has to be some substance there, but the OP's question seems to imply that Floyd is as big as the most famous HW's, and that just isn't so.

 

atsch First I for one am not Wlad fan at all, and he does have safety pin in his brain, no one expects him to fight totally open against best fighters he faced, but against shot to **** former cruiserweight Mormeck there were 16 clinches in round one simply even against fighter like that he can not open up straight away he just cant and somehow manages to make it boring, i believe he thinks his chin is worse than it really is or something like that, his brained is wired like that!

 

Well it really doesn't matter or serve a point. Total what if situation. Point is Mayweather still has millions in the bank.

 

No way he'd be a bigger draw than prime Tyson. However, De La Hoya and Roy Jones were big stars during the Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis era. Mayweather would still be a big star. Just not the biggest as he is now.
