    I would say you have a point if Ward didn't fight the best guy in the division above his.

    Pavlik fought MWs. PW was the only legit smaller guy weight wise but that never happened and PW supposedly wanted that fight.

    If you don't think Martinez was a legit smaller guy in that fight, then Im not sure what to say really.


    If anything, there would be less a size difference between Ward vs Chavez, then there was Pavlik vs Martinez.

    Martinez's fight night weight was around 168 and that is what Pavlik was when he fought Taylor the first time and people were calling Pavlik a big MW. Besides, Pavlik didn't call him out. It was the other way around. DiBella begged for the fight.

    Also, Pavlik was close to 180 against Martinez. He had at least 10lbs on him in there..... I just don't even know why you are trying to refute that Martinez is smaller then Pavlik.

    One thing that is true though upon reflection, is that Martinez is really the only person you can say that about with Pavlik, since the Williams fights never happened. So not quite the same as with Taylor, Hopkins, ect.

    But he did fight Martinez, which is no worse then if Ward fought Chavez.


    The point?

    All champions fight smaller fighters.

    Not all of them do it after completely wiping out their own division, like ward has.

    Ward needs to go upto 175, come back to 160 and fight anyone willing

    He's so talented that there literally isn't anyone in his own division that is going to win
