I don't see Jones doing good at HW to be honest. He looks special because he gets away with a lot of stuff because of his size. Once he moves up, HWs won't be affected in the same way by his striking and his size won't be such an advantage. I think Nelson would blast the crap out of him for example. He just won't be able to manhandle guys anymore, it will be him being ragdolled.

    Jones is not naturally bigger.

You could argue that while Cain doesn't give a **** in terms of who he is fighting, he also doesn't give a **** about being the best and most professional fighter that he can be. Jones on the other hand eats right. Cain could arguably make 205 if he ate less burritos. He freely admits he loves food and I've seen what he eats on the documentaries.

You could argue Nelson doesn't give a **** and is better than Jones. The reality is, he isn't being the best he can be.

Jon maybe naturally bigger if he as you say can be in shape at 240 plus. However, that does not mean he can throw 240lb dudes around as well as Cain can. It doesn't mean he cant. It means he hasn't yet done so. Obviously he can throw many a big man around as that's not what I mean. I mean what I said, just because he can throw a big guy around does not mean he can throw a big guy around like Cain can. It means that if JJ is grappling with bigger guys trying and even succeeding to throw them around a little, well it means he could GAS way faster than Cain does.

All and all I have no clue how JJ does at HW. He is a monster at LHW there is no doubt. He is super impressive at LHW. Has the appearance already of a ATG in his short career already. I just don't BUY into the JJ is going to roll through the heavy weights nearly as well as he has through the LHWs to date. I think he makes a lot of noise at HW no doubt because he is so awesome overall. Simply stated I see him loosing to specific HWs on specific nights and possibly far easier than MOST would at this point in time consider. Take his awesome Greco/judo/sambo/etc hip roll and slam whereby he has taken more than a few right off their feet into the ground onto their backs in a split second, that works so well for him for many reasons related to his physical abilitys matched with the angles his body has upon his opponents physical abilitys PLUS his opponents WEIGHT RELATED to all of the angles and the abilitys all working together as one relative to only the two opponents in the cage. What I just said in laymans terms is when two 200lb dudes are fighting each other trying to toss each other around they are NOT always tossing the equivalent of 200lbs around with each TOSS or TURN etc. Its way less the problem is with the higher weights the SPEED of the TOSS slows down EXPONENTIALLY, witch means if ANYONE JJ included, SETs and PIVOTs going for one of those AWESOME pivot and ground control slams that JJ does so well, well the slower one is thrown the MORE TIME they have to create the BEST counter angles of resistence and if and when that is successful the natural outcome is the one that went to TOSS their OPPONENT is left it a position in essence lets refer to as "HANGING IN THE WIND",,, IE: bad position. In that case it does not matter how awesome JJ is, its a matter of angles, gravity and WEIGHT and thus if a big fat **** gets on top of you with momentum and gravity working together and he has control of you , well your going to end up on bottom in a bad position when you hit the ground regardless to whether one can get out from that position.

That JJ has rarely ever had to deal with in the cage. Yes maybe a couple of guys got his shoulders to smack the canvas and sure I cant recall all of his fights, I have seen most and I am sure I never recall him being on his back in a BAD POSITION having to work like a hound dog to survive and thrive thereafter.

That's what he would be facing at least here and there in the HW division wouldn't he ???

I would bet on Cain. Not just Cain. I could see JJ in many CLOSE wars with more than a few HWs without the dominance that we have come to expect from him at LHW. I could see JJ as well get chewed up and spit out by a few HW's. Plus I could see once in a while some gate keeper black sheep of MMA like a Nelson/Tank/etc type of guy unexpectedly taking a win from him somehow.

So the difference between Cain and JJ is I can see Cain defending the HW belt in his lifetime more than I could see JJ defending it. Cain's already in the lead as the claim to the hypothetical baddest man on the planet thingy. Even though its only hypothetical, its still harder than it appears.

OK, I gotta hit the showers.

    FREE Mandela :bbb :deal

Jones wrestling is the great equalizer. He basically has it in his backpocket whenever he needs it ala Machida in the 2nd round. Obviously he'd have a tougher go of it than at LHW but ragdolling the likes of Bader, Rampage, Hamill etc is amazing, all of those guys cut from 230 or more (Hamill was weighing nearly 240 6 weeks out from the Tito fight when I was training with him).

Cain also has top wrestling as well so it'd be a good one. Cain's superior boxing might be the difference.
