Promoter does his job shocker. A British ATG why not, aye. A ATG in boxing history? dunno about that. yes his resume is stacked but who has he beat that will be an atg? No-one i think. Ward will be but he spanked carl. Then again he can only face who's in front of him and hes never ducked anyone, there has been no atg fighter to beat, apart from JC who was winding down (and wouldve beat froch) and ward. Came 2nd in the super6. Retired Kessler once, probably retire him for good tonight

IMO, he's already a British ATG and HOF'er. He'd need to beat Kessler, take Ward's '0' and then win a belt up at 175 to be an ATG as far as boxing history goes though imo.

 

British ATG maybe (which isn't a lot). But a proper ATG? Don't think so. It's only Robo Kessler that he's beating. One that's missing a few bolts, has scrambled vision and has been leaking oil for the past few years.

 

dont agree he needs a belt at 175 to cement it, he could theoretically go up and take on crap fighter just to win a belt. nothing wrong with knowing your weight and sticking to it

ATG is universal. You can't mitigate by saying things like British ATG.

 

ATG means different things to diffrent people, it's completely subjective.

Some class it as the top 100 fighters ever, others top 50, others top 10 in their respective weight class, whatever.

As somebody said,the man who beat them both CAN achieve it,but I think he'd have to go up a weight to do it.These 2 have been good world class boxers.I think Froch will take a close decision,and the only thing that proves is they're on a par.
