He's the top dog of the division, but is chasing a payday and mad that Hopkins want's his slice of the pie. :rofl

You couldn't make this up! he's the man and he's not the man at the same time!! haha. Oh Wardy what a precarious position you have found yourself in.

And that rant made him look very bitter.

Exactly the type of stupid comment that typified 80% of the interview.

Again, for the non readers(sorry about no audio description)
We're not saying Froch wins, just that Ward made a **** up for most of that interview and really doesn't want to travel,

And as for the comment about how much Froch earned,Froch Ward in the UK,would probably draw about four or five times what Ward could draw at the top of any bill in the States.

Why the **** is it so difficult for the likes of ward or mayweather to travel to UK?
Other nationalities go to the US
So why shouldnt they go to UK?
For example if the ward v froch second fight was in the UK and the result was ward win
Then that's that thank you very much and respect for going into the other guys territory
But if it was a froch win then have a third in Vegas at least both men would have had to visit the others home turf.
And then have a big money third fight in Vegas
Surely if one goes to the others country then the other man should go to his?

Ward said you make your name in the US and judging by history he may be right but it doesn't mean every subsequent fight should be there.

Well Jay you're from England. Given your fighters tendency to bottle it in important matches Id say there winning isnt important.

    In America it still is.

He said Carl has two losses on the road, so Carl obviously wants to stay at home.
He said you need to come to USA to make a name.
Also, he added that the O2 arena wouldn't be enough, Wembley would have to do.
Also he said both guys take too much punishment and he beat Carl with one hand injured.

Uhm what else did he say.... he was puting his lips and looking hella awkward, saying he likes the british peoples love for boxing.

I've got no interest in seeing Froch fight Ward again but it is funny seeing Ward making a mess of himself like that, he comes across as quite deluded with the talk of Froch having to come to America to make it when he is over here commentating with HBO on one of his fights and a genuine great fighter like Hopkins begging for a fight.

personally I would like to see HBO put the money up for Froch to fight Chavez Jr in either Vegas or NY.

I've seen some horrible scorecards in US based fights. Alexander has had a few gifts as well. It happens everywhere, so you can make the same argument. The American fighters dont want to leave the US and stop receiving favourable scprecards too.

So this is a null point. But what is a factor though, is who brings the money to the table? that issue has been THE make or break factor in many fights Ward couldn't sell out my an arena the size of my living room. Froch packs an 18k venue in 3 hours. He also now holds 2 of the major belts.

    Go figure.

What home turf? New Jersey is not Ward's home turf, far from it. Read my previous post.

Chavez, a Mexican, went to Whitaker's "home turf" in the U.S., why'd Whitaker get a Draw in a fight he won?

    Hopkins-Calzaghe? Cunningham-Adamek II? Ward-Froch scorecards?

What home turf are you talking about?

Being the best simply means being the most popular. Winky Wright from 2000-2003 was probably Top 5 P4P in terms of talent level but he wasn't popular and thus wasn't the 'best'. You can't be the best if nobody acknowledges you (a.k.a being popular). Until you fight and beat a big name opponent, you aren't known as the best period.

Mayweather fought Gatti (a very popular fighter) and destroyed him. The general public thought he was a much better boxer than they previously thought before. Hardcore boxing fans know Gatti isn't very skilled, but the general public does and thats what matters at the end of the day.

It's all about popularity, not talent level.

No offense but the crowds are dead in the US.
