I suspect Hopkins will want this fight, Froch has a style this old Hopkins tends to do well with and Froch has never been rated higher as Kessler is definitely his best win. But Froch probably wants Ward or a 3rd Kessler fight rather than move up to face Hopkins. As a Hopkins fan would like to see this made but I suspect Froch will face Ward next if he can get him out of the US.
I'd rather see it than a Ward rematch honestly. A 48 year old damn-near-shot Bernard Hopkins still wins about a 9-3 or 8-4 decision on a rational scorecard. Stylistically this fight is perfect for him. He still has the ability to limit Froch's workrate, take away his jab, and counter his mistakes in a way that Kessler just couldn't do. I suspect Hopkins is physically stronger in clinches, as well.
Froch dismantles Hopkins at this point at any weight. All it takes now is a fighter that has a semblance of boxing knowleadge and is quicker and faster. Froch is all of the above. Froch is a big step up to the fighters Hopkins has beaten lately!
Carl deserves to be the second white guy to kick Bernard's ass but that has to be at SMW. If Hopkins wants it that hard, he will get it. :hat
Actually this is a very good fight for B-Hop, stylistically speaking. The question is at what weight ?! 168 , 170 , 175 ? :think Hopkins - Froch in UK / London would be huge ! :yep
Err dont think so. Froch absolutley hammers Cloud. How did Bernard do against Chad by the way?? A ****ing Alien my ass.
Froch was already humbled by Ward. As soon as he got home, thousands of miles away from Ward, he started talking. Froch thinks beating Bute is the same as beating Ward. Froch will probably fight Groves next and that's the same as beating Hopkins in his eyes.
The problem is his lack of footspeed and creativity in setting up his offense. Hopkins would spot his lead right from a mile away, and would easily turn Froch, who is one of the more flatfooted fighters among the sub-elite level. Froch is definitely not quicker or faster, and while he is crafty, isn't really that much better schooled than the likes of Cloud.
