Just a general question thats been on my mind about competing and bringing friends/family to watch....And im talking your every weekend local amateur show.. Ive heard of fighters going alone and just with their team mates and ive also head of a few I know telling a lot of the social life to go and support. Just want to see what any of yous do when you have a fight?
I usually don't bring anyone. I only had 7 fights and before I didn't think I needed any distractions or additional pressure. Now that i'm more confident, I think I will start inviting friends/family to more local bouts (I don't expect people to drive 2+ hours just to watch me for 10 minutes).
depends if you use the pressure to your advantage if i box far away from home i dont bother bringing anybody but a few lads from the gym but if im boxing at home i love having all of my friends and family there its a great feeling
got a few mates down for my first fight but it was a uni event so lots of lads I knew through boxing plus anyone from my uni supported me by default. My fights over here I have had just my team and people from my gym who have come along to watch. Usually find that randoms in the crowd start supporting me which I always find strange. Its a bit of a liberty asking people to come to watch a 6minute fight especially if they aren't interested in boxing. If it was a big fight I'd ask.
If its an away show its usually just my best mate that comes watch, if its local I'll invite a few close friends and my sister (and some of her friends/boyfriend) but not loads of people.... Our lass came to watch my last fight and I think it made me fight better lol
I'd rather not. My dad, maybe my sister, maybe one friend, that's it. I have a huge family and I'd feel nervous with them there.
