Spot on, Khan nearly ****ed his whole career when he ****ed Sky off and made his Judah fight PPV on primetime. He's now fighting on boxnation which is a tenner a month. Hate fighters who rip their fans off when they can/could fight on noral channels but go ppv for the cash.
Some people moan for the sake of it. Froch v Kessler is well justified being PPV. We as fans complain that we dont get big fights in this country. Sometimes to get them they have to go PPV, I am certainly not complaining for a fight of this quality.
Froch/Kessler is a quality fight I don't think anybody's doubting that but given the undercard and the pathetic amount of boxing sky show it's not value for money, imo.
I agree with this, other than the "I don't think anybody's doubting that" part. I have seen some complain that neither Froch or Kessler is the top guy in the division, but so what? It's probably the best fight that can be made in the division. Certainly better than an Andre Ward fight anyway.
Achilles, just picked this discussion up again.I don't think a Cleverly fight should be discussed as Froch hasn't moved up yet.Maybe one for the future.DeGale certainly isn't ready yet, though I hope both him and Groves will be in the future.Maybe Carl retires before that anyway. But wasn't Stevenson his mandatory?I know he's moving up now so probably null and void.I agree with some of your points but regarding Ward taking on the winner:He's already beat both men convincingly.Maybe for their sakes it'd be good for either to get a crack, but I couldn't see anything different happening. And it would be PPVagain. As I said, will probably wait and see theres no pull outs in Bellew/Chilemba and buy it,mainly in the hope that Bellew does a bit better.Im also not convinced its another poor fight, and it does mean something as he gets a shot if he wins.
Here's the thread rob about people complaining about a potential £3 rise. I wasn't the only one who moaned!
£20.95? No no no no, I'm not hearing this! TELL ME YOU DID NOT JUST SAY THAT!?! TELL ME they didnt stick the price up on fight night? Tell me you guys are just taking the ****!?! Please!
was more expensive the way u ordered it from the remote / on the phone automated / on the blower speaking to some1
Last night must have been a big PPV flop I contacted 20 pubs in London and only 2 were showing the fight. The rest made me feel like an idiot for asking. Don't know anyone who actually paid the £15 PPV due to the plethora of decent streams on the internet showing exactly the same as the mugs paying an extra £15. The fight was simply Froth (not an all time great by any means) avenging a defeat against a fighter past his prime and there were no surprises at all last night. (Not even a hint of a knockdown until the final few secs of the fight.) People should stand back from all the hype and ask why they are paying £15 for an average fight on top of a high subscription cost. It is simply because the 2 boxers, Eddie Hearn and Sky want to squeeze every last penny out of the boxing fan. All are already millionaires and fighting for 50% of the money earned last night would have little financial impact on any. The profile and interest in boxing would have been greatly enhanced if this fight was not hidden anyway to the majority of the population on PPV. PPV and greed is what kills boxing as people will no longer waste time watching fighters progress then get shafted with PPV when the big fight arrives. PPV will eventually fail as the demand will continually fall due to the continuous and relentless improvement and availability of internet streaming. It was a good fight but I will never pay for a PPV regardless of who is fighting.
