Is Ward right to say just because the Froch fight was in the US it didnt mean it was a home fight as its a 5 hour plane Journey for him also to atlantic City I kind of agree with ward, Its not like when Ried fought Lacy in his hometown and couldnt get a gym to train in etc.

Ward is another level to Froch. I hope we see them fight again, another defeat for British boxing on the worlds biggest stage.

I don't really mind Ward but I'd have a lot more respect for him if he did fight someone in their backyard. I know he doesn't have to but for me it adds to a fighters legacy if he's travelling & defending his belts away from home.

I can see why he doesn't though, when you aren't a puncher there's always the danger that you'll get robbed on the cards. I believe this is the main reason he won't fight abroad

Yeah this stuff about heart and not being a warrior that I've heard some criticize him for is bull****. If you have the skills to not get hit, it's stupid to stand there and take it just to entertain. Like Virgil Hunter said, people don't see the aftermath. When a fighter who entertained the crowd ends up brain damaged. Likewise, sometimes a fighter simply isn't good enough to avoid punches like others and has to take one to give one. Rather than say "yeah I've got a **** defence" they are obviously going to say "I fight like that because I'm a warrior". I'm not saying Froch isn't a warrior. He obviously is tough as nails but him and his fans are very bitter at Ward. I failed to beat him in the ring so the only ammo I have left is to claim he's boring. So bitter.

I've always found Ward's personality a bit boring but I've just seen his interview with Smith and I liked it. I want to see him turn into a bit of a trash talker. I don't like Mayweather, but his supreme confidence has to be admired and when he says stuff like "I'm the creme de la creme, the uno" it just makes him sound like a boss. That kind of thing can be charismatic. He has the skills to back up his talk so he should put the Bible away and start reading the art of trash talking by James Toney. The guy is still fairly young, he's undefeated, he's proved himself as the best in the world in his weight division, he's good looking. He can be a huge star but he needs to be a bad boy.

As for fighting Froch in England? He doesn't owe Froch anything, but tbh he would win anywhere and have the satisfaction of saying he's beaten Froch in his own backyard.

He's an embarrassment at the minute, in all honesty.

An absolutely brilliant fighter, yet one with very few options in terms of credible opponents, primarily because of his own diva-esque tendencies.

It's ridiculous how he's basically given Froch the opportunity to take the division by the scruff of it's neck and done nothing himself, the win over a drained Dawson aside.

So people want to watch Froch, not bothered about watching Ward and don't think Froch would beat Ward. Close thread.

It’s mind boggling; the guy is in the top three of nearly everyone’s P4P list, and comprehensively beat Froch. I doubt you’ll come across a boxer who’s as down to earth and respectful as Ward. I genuinely like watching him box and listening to the guy when he's talking about boxing. Both Ward and Froch are great for boxing. Don’t understand the need for people to belittle one of them while praising the other.
