I always have to press mute for that part, the vocals make me cringe.

Never really been a fan of God save the Queen despite being a fan of both! Land of Hope and Glory is the one for me. Wonder if they change it when Liz passes the baton.

The only good thing about god save the queen is that its short and simple so everyone can sing along to it.

No.It used to be God Save the King and will be again.Pity its a tuneless dirge.Elgars number is a lot better but doesn't really apply today IMO.Dont care a lot about the glory but they're not giving us much hope.

  7. I thought it sounded great just crowd finished it a lot earlier

Best anthem in sport is Scotland's
When you hear that ring out at a burns fight it's very powerful

  8. I thought at the end they might have played 'Land of hope and glory' like they did when Bruno beat McCall

Scotland has the worst national anthem - utter dirge. How can anyone have a national anthem penned by a folk band? The Corries are a great band, but honestly - a modern pop song as your national anthem? And the lyrics are abysmal - so negative, it's all in opposition to England.

Most of which are redundant are no longer part of the anthem. What's your point?
