Is there anything about Kessler...

Many times he is just off balance. Then it looks like he is hurt.

 

it looked at times that he tried to avoid or roll with shots in a way that made it appear that the punch knocked his head around more than it really did

I think it had a big impact on the scoring too

 

I don't think he was ever seriously hurt in that fight. I just though he got caught of balance a few times.

 

No but it was closer than that 118 score from the one judge and that 117 score from ESPN and HBO

going by the fight collector scores 1 or 2 had it for Kessler several had draws

Id say the 115 to 113 was the right score, of course I'd like to go back and score the fight myself

I came away impressed by Kesslers accuracy on his power punches especially the left hook and straight right

Kessler appeared dry or nervous in the 1st few rounds and took awhile to get going. He also rarely followed up on his best connects but to Frochs credit he always returned fire after being caught by a good punch

Froch at times can appear stiff and his punches slow but I think he times his opponents well and makes up for his seemingly slow hands

He backs up with his head straight up and with a lacy guard. Joe Calzaghe was the first to expose this very essential weakness in Kessler's game.
Old school trainers would NEVER have fighters back up in straight lines with their head all up in the air. Kessler is lucky to be blessed with a great chin and great recuperative abilities, or he'd have not made it to the elite level.

 

froch was just stronger an he was moving him. kessler never got hurt badly but the shots he was takin was gettin off balance.

 

i dont think its a lack of balance or anything to me it seemed froch was just alot stronger and the punches just sent him off balance. kessler didnt get hurt but he felt them and moved him. he wasnt shooken up mentally or physically. u can tell because he always fired back at froch with nice crisp punches, but they didnt really phase froch. froch's punches didnt really phase kessler either but he deff landed more n did more damage

 

He was showing jittery legs saturday. It was like what Shane does with his hands, but with his feet. When youre ducking a punch that just misses you or barely touches you and you have jittery legs the visual impact is that it hurt you.

 

True.. I noticed that a few times as well. Meanwhile, Froch ate those same left hooks that had Green out cold like they were Junior Mints.
