Mitchell definitely needs to shift some ring rust. He's only fought 27 rounds since beating Prescott back in 2009, so before he steps in the ring with anyone too dangerous, he needs to have a few easy bouts. I'd stick him on a card every two months or so, for maybe 4 fights against weak opposition before stepping up in quality. It might not be what the fans want to see but it's what will help his career most.
Im a big fan of Matchroom and Eddie Hearn but lately this is getting ridiculous, George Groves fighting countless mis matches, shite prizefighter after another, Kev Mitchell another 10 rounder against a poor opponent although his last was with Frank, even the Bolton card i was debating going to but apart from Rees vs Crolla its just Rose vs Nobody, Selby vs Nobody although at least Fieldings finally getting moved along.
There was an article put up wild back with hearn saying he wanted to use one of the venues for boxing and he had sorted out a deal for it, cant remember which venue though.
it must be done on purpose it happens too much now - why i dont know?? just another example of boxing shooting itself in the foot
Promoters seem to be too interested in 'ruining' the others. Don't get me wrong I've moaned about this show but if there was no other boxing on I'd watch it. Thats why i don't understand surely one on a Friday one on saturday would be better for fans and ratings for both!
mitchell should have been in the prizefighter get his 3 keep busy fights out of the way in one go and - its not a bad idea for all the waifs n strays matchroom take on
This Olympic venue you lot are talking about, do you mean the Copperbox that's at the park? That was used for basketball
