In my lifetime I've seen Ali @ 6'3" 220 being one of the bigger heavyweights to an era 6'5 240 lbs and up being the median for champs and contenders. Will there be a time in the future, perhaps as soon as the next 30 years, where the top ten contenders and champ(s) will be filled with Nicolay Valuev - sized guys?
If the world gets out of the crisis within the next 5 or 10 years then there's a pretty good chance. I hope they'll still be called Heavyweights, and there won't be different classes what some guys here like to see.
I don't think so, I think athletes have hit the cieling of their dimensional 'potential' at least for the next 30 years.... I expect guys like wilder, price, wlad, ect to become more the norm but I doubt the average in 30 years of the top 10 at heavy is above 6'7
I am absolutely certain of it. Look at Tyson Fury. The guy has the witts of a goldfish, and a fishbowl for the chin and a punching power of a cruserweight. He is a fat skinny guy with a gut and awkward movement. Yet he is knocking out skilled boxers, albeit borderline illegally. Because of him, every towering slob is going to become a hw boxer.
