it was close and the toughest anyone had pushed jones to that point. eddie futch was a ****ing genius.

anyway, you could theoretically have griffin up but jones was coming on for sure (though he was frustrated). jones looked bad but griffin was not dominating

He actually taught me a trick I still use with the timing of a counter hook.

He'd make a terrific full time trainer. He had great eyes, not great reflexes: He could teach a young fighter how to really see things happening in there.

FIVE MONTHS LATER; REMATCH, I NEEDS MY CROWN.

FIRST ROUND, ONE PUNCH AND HE SAT DOWN.

Griffin's claim to greatness is being part of an ATG verse. Not in the ring :-(

If he had been more durable then he could have gone on to be one of the best fighters at light heavyweight during his era as he was giving both Jones Jr and DM problems before being KO'ed, but he was not a great fighter, he simply didn't achieve enough.

He had great skills and technique, his strategy against Jones in the 1st fight was beautiful. He controlled the centre of the ring where Jones likes to fight and used feints and jabs to back Jones up to the ropes and then wailed away of Jones when pinned on the ropes. Tarver would use the same tactics in the first fight with Jones with great success. But once Jones switched tactics and become the aggressor instead of counter punching he didn't have the durability to withstand Jones' power or the power himself to punish Jones for being more aggressive.

Not a great IMO... but blow out loss to Tarver? Tarver clearly won but the fight went the distance and Tarver got hit a lot.If Griffin had more power he would have seriously hurt Tarver. The loss to Jones was a real blow out (LKOby1)... not sure you can really compare these two losses.

Was making Jone's look amateurish? Be honest, you haven't seen any fight prior to when you starting riding Mayweather's dick. Hell, just a couple months ago you didn't even know they wore groin protectors in pro fights. Yet, now you talk **** like you knowledgeable of the sport. A couple months ago, you didn't know they used groin protectors but now Griffin is an all time great and was making Jones look amateurish and SRL was media hype and Floyd Mayweather Jr would beat him easily. **** off.

To me though he made Roy look human. He backed him up to ropes and threw beautiful counter left hooks catching Roy whilst he was going through his combo animation. Futch was an awesome trainer. :good

Why do you type like that?!

And yes you're right Griffin was cold and rushed to the ring. Thats why Jones punches did more damage.
