'Casuals' guide to boxing

See I know **** all about football but if someone told me about a game I'd never say with certainty one team would beat another.

Exactly, my mates ask me stuff and I break it down and talk them through what I know. The most annoying thing is when one says something stupidly and it turns out to happen like I told a mate about B-hop/Dawson I and he was like Dawson will do him early. I laugh "no one does B-hop".:-(

 

Haha Funny us talking about this, just got off the phone to the old dear and bless her she tries but apparently David Price is fighting Lennox Lewis in Canada!! hmm TK0 2 to Lennox I think in that one

No problem with people not knowing much about boxing and then asking you genuine questions hoping to understand the sport better but when people act like experts when it's clear they've not got a clue....

You quickly realise who's a bullshitter and learn to avoid talking about boxing around those bullshitters.

 

Tony Bellew replied to some fella on Twitter who said that he would love to see a fight between him and Ricky Burns....said something like "have you been smoking mate?" haha....

 

Not sure how people can't realise size difference in boxing.

 

My missus judges fights by who she fancies her recent predictions include: Haye beats Chisora, Ward beats Froch and everyone beats Amir Khan

If she says anything other than a double ko her bags will be packed

 

Although there are some obvious ones like FW's fighting HW's etc. you can excuse the casual fan slightly for their confusions as boxing is pretty complicated. There are a LOT of weight divisions and alphabet titles and depending on what TV package they have, some well known fighters they may have never even seen as they don't have BN or Sky or whatever.

 

who was the sky sports presenter interviewing george groves and asked about the fight that was "on everyone's lips" groves vs hatton ??
