i used to fight at 123 lbs and moved up, im tall for my weight even at 132 at 5'10, but the thing is im at 143 after a half decent workout (aka morning run) and i need help ive done it before i was 147 a day before the weigh ins but that was just 1 fight, here im fighting at a tournament help pls
Honestly, are you going to be THAT uncompetitive at a higher weight class? You must blow right over in strong winds at that height and weight!
So you're 143 after a decent workout. So i'm guessing you're closer to 145 at rest? Dropping down to 132 is do-able, but man.....you could be draining yourself a lot if the weigh ins and actual fights are only a few hours away. That level of dehydration just plain isn't safe if you are fighting the same day. If I were you, i'd shoot for 139.
Kinda gotta ask, what level are you at and what are your aspirations. I'm assuming you're young (perhaps mid-late teens given your H/W ratio), is this Local/Gym level? If you're at county level or above, it's worrying you don't have better advice already, in fact, even at gym level isn't there someone to give you advice? - If you're even thinking about fighting seriously, you can't afford to rely on @mates since we don't know anything about your build, diet, energy expenditure etc. Listen closely;- I don't know why you're doing what you feel you have to or want to and appreciate you'll have your own reasons, but Weight Draining 13lbs (coming on for 10% body mass) is not a good idea unless you have some seriously professional advice on your team (which appears non-existant) and a really, really, good reason for doing so. You're going to end up damaging yourself and losing. Please, please, think about this carefully, and if you wanna fight seriously, AM or PRO, get some proper advice. Regards Koba, and good luck whatever you decide.
Ok well, its for regionals the people im fighting i have already beaten usuall im under 138 but this time i took a break for about 4 months and went upto 160(fat) and im an amateur. This tourney will decide my spot at nationals. And 143 i dont feel dried out or slow or anything hell i still feel bloated. I dont wannna go up to 141 lb division cuz i still got fat on me. Whereas at 132 im lean and feel great not to mention really fast. So someone pleas gve me advice on how to do it.
Not the advice you want to hear but if you're 5'10", weigh as little as you do and clain to be fat either you have a phsychological disorder or have very little muscle mass. You may want to look into building yourself up a bit if that's the case.
Hahah man im perfectly healthy and yes im one of tall lanky guys in my weight now cmon guys. I need help i dont have a lot of time :barf
You might be now but losing 10 pounds in the days before the fight not good. You need to be at 132 for at least a week to be comfy with it, or at least only a few pounds over. Serious injury could occur if you take clean shots when your that drained.
You've been given good advice but you're choosing to ignore it because it goes against what you want to do. You may want to fight at the weight you're saying, but nobody here with a decent level of knowledge (as in they have some knowledge of the human body) is going to risk helping you put yourself in hospital.
ok virus ima pm you, you seem sensible and actually ooking to help please mayne im nationally ranked at 132 thats why i need to make this weight
yeah i do that, since i normally end up being around 140 after the fight i have to skip off 6-8 pounds usually in between fights
I'd recommend against dropping that low, especially if it's for a tournament. Is your ranking that important? Could you climb to similar standing in the class above? You. Have. A. Problem.
