Alot of people on floyds nuts fot taking this fight, saying he always fights the best etc. etc..

Can i just say! Canelo is the slight Underdog, Canelo is the fighter taking on the undefeated P4P king, Canelo is the guy who's coming down in weight to fight floyd.

So I say Respect to Canelo!!!!

Just wanted to say that, because everyone seems to be making threads commending floyd for taking this fights. So i thought Canelo Should get one.

Can't wait for this fight! War Canelo!

    :bbb

I also respect Canelo but I always thought he is the kind of guy that would take any fight especially after so many big fights didn't happen (Williams, Cotto, Ortiz). But he has much less to lose than Floyd who doesn't have such a fan friendly style and depends much more on his 0, is older and probably close to the end of his career. Even if Canelo loses he is still really young, will benefit from the exposure and can be build back up easily

Agreed. But I don't quite remember the same threads for Guerrero, where was Guerrero's respect? :think

He showed more balls when he took the trout fight imo. Atleast with mayweather its partially abouy the payday but with trout it was all about proving himself.

    Its the Ali Frazier effect.

Ali lands a punch, great shot by Ali. Frazier lands a punch, Great Chin by Ali.

Everyones looking at floyd, so people don't see the guy opposite, the one who is actually taking the challenge.

Massive respect for guerrero. He was a fat sluggish welter who was able to beat berto and compete with floyd.

Canelo is a lion, traditional Mexican who told GBP he wanted Trout and no one else when they tried to match him up to another welterweight and has called out Mayweather for some time...he's trying to build a legacy and will fight anyone

Yeah agree - Mayweather will not hurt you as such, he might outbox you but there's nothng to physically fear. Secondly losing to Mayweather is not the end of your career at 22, it's a win-win for Canelo. Trout was more of a risky fight, lose there and it affects your legacy big time - Trout is a very good fighter but not elite

I just give both boxers in virtually any match up respect anyway, it goes without saying.

I just don't see why people are going out of their way to show respect to either boxer in this scenario. It's their job, they box, and like I said, the respect goes without saying. :conf:good

I agree. Props to Canelo for jeopardizing his health by coming down two pounds. Anybody that knows boxing, knows how much of psychological effect this can have on you. Even one pound. It makes a hell of a lot of difference. He's being forced to kill himself to make weight. My thoughts and prayers are with him.

respect to Canelo? for fighting a 36 year old welterweight that's moving up.. but so happens to be the cash cow??

this is no-risk fight for Canelo..

he wins, He's considered the best P4P

he loses, "oh well, no shame in losing to Floyd, he's an all time great and #1 P4P"

anyone would jump at the opportunity to fight Floyd, Canelo lucked up..

Yep. Also, he can always blame the catchweight & say he was drained.

    - Which is probably EXACTLY why he didn't object to 152.
