The schooling Calzaghe had was in the Welsh ABA's and British ABA's and running in the Valleys with his dad, and fighting Tocker Pudwill.

McClellan was a different breed, beating Tim Littles, Frank Liles and Roy Jones Jr before he even turned pro or ever stepped in Kronk. At Kronk he learned from sparring Tommy Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonard, Michael Moorer and Evander Holyfield (outboxed them all by all accounts), and he learned from the best - Manny Steward.

Calzaghe is not schooling Gerald McClellan.

Benn beat McClellan, Eubank beat Benn & Watson, Calazghe beat Eubank, a racing line says Calzaghe not only beats Eubank but Benn, Watson and McClellan as well.

Nope I agree. But neither in the words of said poster would Calzaghe have,

"stood no chance against Gerald McClellan. None at all."

That's clearly wrong too me thinks.

And by the same logic Taylor probably beats Calzaghe.

Pavilk should have battered Hopkins, Foreman KO's Ali etc

I think if Joe fought a smart fight it would have been a frustrating night for Nigel, however if he could draw him into a tear up it would have been a total war!.

Now that is a fight I would love to have seen!

Calzaghe's record from 9 years old till he retired was phenomenal, form lines pointed to him winning and that is what happened every time in the pro's and 90 odd percent of the time in the amateurs and schoolboys boxing, if not 99% of the time.

    Calzaghe was phenomenal.

Taylor lost to Pavlik, Pavlik lost to Hopkins, Calzaghe beat Hopkins, not only does Calzaghe beat Hopkins beat he would beat Pavlik and Taylor as well.
