I think we have seen that Dos Santos has a legendary equalizer in his right hand in that it doesn't even need to land cleanly to knock guys like Hunt down. It's not something fighters can consistently deflect or block with their hands because there's still enough power there to buzz you or knock you down/ off balance. This is the first time we have really seen a weapon like this in MMA, it sort of bypasses the defenses. Not a strike you want to block, parry or deflect, if you can help it, avoid contact altogether lol.

Cain moving forward inside of that power range, because JDS needs to land it from kinda far away is the safe place to be.. I think the way to beat JDS is to control his range by being inside on him and not letting him extend his arms. For Cain, it's a great spot because he knows he can buzz JDS from here, and it seems to be where he scraps best..

I think Cain can take a late round tko. I don't think JDS will want to lose another decision. We will see what JDS's confidences is like vs. Cain in the rematch. I think he's a little scurred.

 

I am going with JDS. Cain made the right adjustments for the rematch, I believe Santos will produce a plan to successfully catch Cain on the way in.

 

JDS stops him again just not that quick

 

Cigano. If he just threw his hands more in the 2nd fight he would have had a real chance of tagging cain good throughout the fight. Plus, he did do a damn good job of stuffing many of cains take downs.

 

It's a genuine 50-50 match up that will come down to strategic execution. The first one went exactly how JDS wanted, stay standing and blast him out. The second went exactly how Cain wanted, repeatedly take him down and exhaust him.

JDS has to be in better shape if he really wants to be 100% prepared for Cain. Even when tired he showed he could get up repeatedly and we know the power is always a danger.
