Unlike Dumbnaire, Mares is far better on the front foot, cutting off the ring AND making adjustments.

I agree, but the amateurs are all we have to roll with at the moment. I don't think it would be a cakewalk, but I do think Rigondeaux would outbox Mares to clearly win a decision. He has that amazing timing, footwork and overall ring generalship. Too much skill for the very skillful Mares. I wish this fight would happen. People might think I am not giving Mares his due credit, but I really am. I respect Mares a lot! I am just very confident in the skill of Rigo.

 

I refuse to sleep on Mares anymore. That young mother****er is the truth and I think that Rigs will be in for the fight of his career. That fight is not guaranteed to either man. It's a toss up.
