Hatton would have beaten him,Senchenko was just all wrong for him he had a significant height and reach advantage over Ricky and was a legit Welter.Julio Diaz on the other would have none of those advantages Hatton would get inside easy enough and work him over,it would be a competitive fight no doubt about it but I see Hatton edging it.

Diaz would have stopped him too. Hatton was shot after round two against Senchenko, was only a matter of time he got worn out and stopped.

Forget about styles the bottom line is Hatton was running on empty after round 2, didn't have it in him anymore and any well conditioned semi decent opponent would have worn him out and stopped him.

Stonking effort for Ricky to get back into fighting weight for that fight, unfortunately he had zero in the tank as a result. The opponent was close to irrelevant it was all about conditioning and engine, Rick's engine has gone.

  4. I think Diaz would have stopped hatton

Senchenko is overrated but deserved his win that night,Diaz is a tough hombre who can bang don't listen to the blown up lightweight rubbish

Knocking Amir Khan down doesn't make you a big puncher.

  7. Check his record

Did you even watch the Senchenko fight Hatton worked hard in there for every second of every round, unfortunately his timing was off and he was getting caught coming in.It had nothing to do with fitness,he got stopped by a body shot which was no suprise considering he was out of the ring three years.People like to overrate Diaz for some reason the guys been beaten 8 times and knocked out five.Amir Khan made him look better than what he is,Hatton would have stopped him.

Diaz stops him, I dont know why people are underrating Diaz, yeah he didnt stop Khan but it was mainly Khan's speed that stopped Diaz throwing
Diaz would walk through Hatton and Brook

Ricky was done. Everyone and anyone at world class, fringe world class or gatekeeper level would have stopped him.

You could see it in the documentaries leading up to the fight. He just didnt have it anymore.

Well I think the fact that Diaz doesn't have one decent win or name on his record does mean something.Hes not walking through anybody,he's been knocked out five times in his career by lesser punchers than Brook and Hatton, stop talking rubbish.

Watched that fight at the cinema, and I saw in all its 40ft widescreen glory that Hatton was shot after round 2. Called it right then that he'd get stopped, it was only a matter of time he was completely spent after six minutes.

This has nothing to do with overrating diaz, my point is that version of Ricky Hatton gets stopped by any half decent opponent with stamina. That includes a semi shot julio diaz. Hatton is complete toast now. No point trying to delve too deeply into the styles make fights nonsense at this stage he is an empty shell.

Have you watched the fight? Don't bother, it was a shadow of hatton in there.
