I chatted with Gary Hyde on facebook a few days ago. He had this to say... Isa: What's the latest with Rigo? Miami in September? If so, I am there. Gary: I think Sept or Oct in Miami could be possible Isa. See you there That isn't the entire conversation. I expressed my concern about Bob Arum and whether or not he will do Rigondeaux justice and Gary's reply was, "Arum will do the business alright." I know that isn't much info, but that is the latest that I know of.
:rofl :rofl I wish I had the avatar picture that someone had here on East Side Boxing of Rigo "taking Donaire to school". That **** was hilarious.
The big players at 122 are not interested on his 2 belts. Nobody likes to be dissected on national tv
The sooner he's back out the better, Rigondeaux needs to be kept active, preferably fighting 4 times a year, looks like he will only fight 2 this year
And this. The part in red is unfortunate, but probably true. He may only be fighting twice a year in general. That is a damn shame. The man needs the opportunity to build his resume. I feel like Bob Arum is not doing all he can to make it happen with Rigondeaux. Not enough money to make Bob get off his old ass.
Haven't heard anything concrete for his return to boxing... but in other news Rigo made a gift to himself after beating Donaire... http://i.imgur.com/ADtwbT2.jpg
Thank for the answers guys...I'm afraid it's looking like Arum isn't going to do Rigo justice (Like Abdullah...hope I'm wrong)...I was a little late getting on the bandwagon, but I'm there now. The fight against Donaire was sheer masterclass with a very dangerous opponent. Big fan of Rigondeaux. I wonder if Arum will look to steer Garcia and Donaire away from Rigondeaux? Any idea how long he is locked into contract with Top Rank?
