He always seemed to throw his combos quicker then Mayweather though Mayweather always looked to have a clear edge on single punches thrown.
Very Unorthodox with his combinations, the problem against Mayweather he would exploit that bad balance he has. Awesome fighter though, watching Pacquiao-Cotto now. :good
He is much faster Floyd is a much much better timer. If you time something right it looks twice as fast
pac throws better combinations .. but mayweathers timing and ring IQ is clearly alot better then pacquiaos.. and we all know timing negates speed id say pacs leg speed is better aswell (though mayweather knows how to use his better)
I don't think so, that straight left he was throwing against De la Hoya was fast as any single punches i ever saw Mayweather throwing. Plus, i can't think of any fighter since Roy Jones Jr who could close the distance as fast as Pacquiao.
He is (or was) faster and more explosive. He might still be (though I think he's worn down and not what he once was.) Mayweather does have impressive speed, but his timing, accuracy, and economical footwork were always more impressive to me than his raw footspeed or handspeed. Pacquiao in his prime was about unorthodox, slightly wild explosiveness and overwhelming his opponent; Mayweather has always been more about defense and safeguarding himself over destroying the other guy. That approach is a big part of why he's aged more gracefully.
I'd agree, Pacquaio is faster. Floyd is able to combine speed with amazing timing though which negates that advantage mostly if they had ever fought IMO
Probably is faster. Khan is probably faster than Pac. There more to landing punches than simply being fast
I think this is correct, and the key. Also, Floyd tends to throw shorter punches, whereas Pac tend to get more leverage on his. Since they travel farther in about the same time, I suppose they are "faster." - but we're comparing missles to rockets here.
