Yup and so was Floyd @ 130. And then both transitioned into the chess player. Meaningless/**** because you're wrong and getting outargued. Being exposed for your limited knowledge of Floyd. It isn't hard to see that their prime weights were their most destructive weights, but when they moved up, they had to adopt a different style. A less fan friendly one, but good enough to win.
hearns 1 and duran 1 are 2 of the most exciting and highly skilled fights ive ever seen. floyds been in some good fights but nothing close to those.
Who a person finds to be more exciting or as exciting is personal preference. There is no right or wrong answer.
Floyd Jr is clearly the more skilled fighter than SRL. And no, you do not know what you are talking about as always.
You obviously never saw SRL and Duran 2 if you think the fight was "the most exciting/highly skilled fights you've ever seen. That fight was boring as hell.
You're a hardcore ***** and don't know **** about boxing. You called Trout a borderline bum and I bet you've never stepped in a ring before. How is Floyd clearly more skilled when he was never able to test his skills against forces like Hearns and Benitez? The answer is he's not. You may believe he is, but he hasn't proven it.
Would you fancy putting a poll up to see if ESB as a whole thinks Bogo doesn't know what he's talking about? That's the thing about some of these younger Floyd fans. They refuse to accept certain cold, hard facts and subsequently, us older Floyd fans get lumped in with them. Floyd is exciting to me because I can appreciate defensive genius but Ray Leonard is the most versatile and adaptive fighter of the modern age. Bottom line:even some hardcore fans don't appreciate Floyd's skill( and Bogo certainly isn't one of them) No one can deny the versatility and excitement Ray brought to the ring, and to say Floyd is more skilled and therefore better carries zero weight amongst anyone with an objective and reasonable opinion. I'd say the Harlem Globetrotters are more skilled than many players in the NBA,but that doesn't make them better than say,Larry Bird, who I use as an example because grit, determination and the knowledge that you've taken on the best the game had to offer(and won) is at least AS important as having a good skillset. Kirkland Laing was far more skilled than Ricky Hatton, but will history remember him as a better fighter? Ray found a way to get past the very best the sport had to offer.Much as I admire Floyd, we'll never know how he would've managed against a genuine prime ATG with close to the ability of Ray's third or fourth best win. Floyd's skill has made him stand head and shoulders above his peers, but he has never had to dig anywhere close to as deep as Ray did because he never fought anyone close to the level of opponent that Ray did in his biggest fights. Conclusion from a fan of both who's actually watched all of the fights that matter in this debate? Ray was a far more exciting fighter to watch because he took on opponents who were expected to,or had a great chance of beating him. And to use Gatti as an example of Floyd's offensive adaptability is about as relevant as using Andy Price as an example of Ray's. Take both fighters' 5 best wins and ask a marginally hardcore boxing fan who's more exciting. I don't mind MVC because he is not on the level of some of these younger fans when it comes to blind refusal to consider facts, and he often has his tongue placed firmly in his cheek with some threads, but they often bring out the sort of Floyd fans who give the rest of us a bad name.
Ray was much more Entertaining! IMO... They dont call the Sucker Punch Artist Floyd "Ambien" Mayweather Jr. for nothing..
srl was way more fun to watch, the most versatile boxer of my lifetime. not to say fmj isn't fun to watch, highly skilled and defensively superb.
