Let me know your thoughts. Paticuarly where you think the 4 British/Irish fighters should be. This content is protected This content is protected 2. Daniel Geale (IBF) 3. Gennady Golovkin (WBA) This content is protected This content is protected 6. Peter Quillin (WBO) 7. Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr 8. Dimitry Pirog 9. Hassan NDam N'Jikam 10. Gregorz Prozska This content is protected 12. Felix Sturm 13. Marco Antonio Rubio This content is protected 15. Brian Vera
Very hard division to rank, I'd have Barker above Prozska though and I'd probably have Chavez Jr and Quillin above Macklin.
Barker above Proksa please. Barker's fought twice in last 6 months and looked good, Proksa has a very decisive loss to Golovkin and a recent "6 rounder" I think? Also i'd place Sturm above Proksa too. Macklin, Quillin and Chavez Jr are interchangeable to me, no major argument on the order you have them. :good EDIT: I'd have Vera above Rubio too.
How about this? I don't think you can have Chavez Jnr ahead of Macklin as Macklins performance against Martinez was far superior. Middleweight (160lbs) World Champion: Sergio Martinez (WBC) 2. Daniel Geale (IBF) 3. Gennady Golovkin (WBA) 4. Martin Murray 5. Matthew Macklin 6. Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr 7. Peter Quillin (WBO) 8. Felix Sturm 9. Dimitry Pirog 10. Hassan N’Dam N'Jikam 11. Darren Barker 12. Gregorz Prozska 13. Brian Vera 14. Marco Antonio Rubio 15. Andy Lee
Sturm vs Geale was razor close. I think Sturm is clearly past his best but his ranking shouldn't be too low.
Sturm for me should be ahead of ndam and barker he has competed against top level opponents for years and his decline isn't as dramatic as some think Prozka I'm unsure of but can't see Lee or Vera having better wins Maybe rubios record is superior to those and he gave Chavez a better scrap than Lee despite being much lighter Quillen,Chavez, macklin and Murray are interchangable Pirog could be higher but too inactive
Pirog needs dumped from those rankings altogether, he hasn't fought for a year and the general rule is if they haven't fought for a year+ they get binned, same happened with Floyd when he "retired"
:deal Had him winning against Geale. He is past it but these last fights still showed he can fight at world level. And I dont know if you can still rank Pirog. Looks like his back injury is killing his career.
