To be honest, in his next fight he's best using his Thai. Lil Nogs stand up is heavily centered around boxing, if Shogun fights like he normally does, he should take this. If Shogun tries to outbox Lil Nog, he may very well lose.

He shouldn't brawl, they've both only been stopped once (excluding Shogun-Coleman). I can't see either being finished, if one was to be finished you'd have to pick Shogun to be the one to put Lil Nog away, but the chances are slim.

Shogun should just pick him off from a distance, Lil Nogs rather predictable, he doesn't throw many kicks. His knees & elbow only come in the clinch.

Shogun should fight at a distance & use plenty of kicks or clinch up against the cage, but Lil Nogs dirty boxing is better so that's more dangerous & not really Shoguns style anyway.

Striking diversity should make this Shoguns fight to lose, trying to outbox Lil Nog would probably be the worst strategy Shogun could bring into this fight.

He's past his prime, a shell of his former self.

Shogun is so vividly Muay Thai. However, a bit of boxing to loosen him up, get him using those feet and hands more can't be a bad thing.

If Shogun is fit, then his striking is almost as good as it gets.

Isn't he also training with Cordeiro again? So I think his Muay Thai will be just fine he's finally taking his training seriously but I hope it isn't too late

Against Gustafson he looked very predictable. He came in with the same attacks over and over again going for some kind of homerun combo that worked early in the fight.

I don't know he was in shape for that fight, definitely looked past it.. But he's looked past it before and wowed us. It's true, father time is catching up with him.

Won't make a blind bit of difference. He's only doing this because of Nog's background in boxing which to be frank is inflated. His boxing by a purists standpoint is mediocre.

Rather see Rua be allowed to fight another striker being he's been training for a standup war with Nog.

Kinda ****ed up if they let this one go. Shogun wont back down and Chael knows he's got bad knees and vulnerable vs. wrestlers, especially if the focus of his training has been on striking lol. Pretty horrible way to treat a legend, making him exchange shots with this literal shitbag Chael Sonnen.

I think Chael may have a shot if he can get Shogun to the ground, and he turns out to be injured again.. But, if Shogun is in good shape, he's not a small or weak dude.. Chael will have trouble taking him down, and then he will have to face that striking Shogun will want to utilize.. Chael hasto blow up for 205, Shogun is a pretty strong 205er..

Bad move for Chael and the company.. Another loss for him, and the UFC loses more face for treating it's legends like crap, and treating the sport like the WWE.

He will have to use his boxing kicks are a bad idea against Chael but it's a horrible matchup for him on short notice the only good thing for him is that Chael didn't have a real camp for this fight
