...but there's a caveat about Ward 'n Eklund, BE. They were step brothers.

With a little sake (which I'm sure is in your corner) no big guns would discourage you. You'd attack an aircraft carrier with a pea shooter.

I have two younger identical twin brothers I used to spar with all the time. One wields tremendous power in both fists, able to generate enormous torque with short shots. The other isn't that kind of bomber, but possesses blinding hand speed and reflexes. [Neither had terrific stamina though, so I could always wear both down with superior toughness and pacing.] Nobody outside the immediate family could ever tell them apart, but nobody would ever confuse one for the other athletically.

With a lifelong perspective like that, I have never thought twice about athletic variations between identical twins, let alone siblings. To me, similarities in performance would be more remarkable.

:nod:lol:I could defend myself reasonably well, and yeah, I could take a helluva shot to either the head or body.
[Good thing too, because I took a helluva lot of shots!:boxing2]
When I heard their breathing get ragged [which happened pretty quickly], I knew I had them. I was an awful lot slower than either of them, but also much stronger and more durable. I also had much better legs. Their legs went pretty quickly. They just couldn't pace themselves. [I was skipping rope and running up to 12 miles a day then. They were just playing and practicing scholastic type team sports, something I never got involved in.]

There's Max and Buddy Baer. Both big, strong heavyweights. Max hit harder and was a better fighter, and of course, a champion. Max had a more colorful, outgoing personality, both inside the ring and out. Buddy had the misfortune of having his best years during Joe Louis' heyday.

In an earlier day there was Mike "Twin" Sullivan and his brother Jack "Twin" Sullivan. I do not know that much about them, but each was a top fighter in their respective weight classes.

I'll say one thing, the older brother can always whip the younger brothers arse.

With me and my brother, he was the golden boy of the gym, a British champion as a junior, but weighing 48kgs soaking wet, but he'd spar with middleweights and give them hell. I'm a Welter (69kgs), and Id just move and pop and soft jab at his chest. He'd lose it and try and brawl and pitter-patter his chest with this jab, drive him nuts all night. Hed lose the plot nd would have to stop sparring after that. Just that old brother advanatage

Obviously the Klitschko brothers. Early fights of Vitali up through about the Hide fight were a heavyweight slugger of the first degree. Not too many heavyweight sluggers with long successful careers, are there? If they don't alter their style, they just don't last.

Larry and Mark Holmes. People forget about Mark, but he was a nice rising prospect at one time. Although a boxer, he didn't use his footwork with a circle and retreat while jabbing Larry utilized. Much more flat footed.

Another pair are the real solid lh--the Davis brothers. I thought Eddie was the better of the two and would trade and certainly step on the gas pedal more than Johnny. but they are probably more similar than they are opposites. When's the last time you heard Johnny and Eddie Davis mentioned anyway?
