    Yeah, well I study physiognomy, and while I haven't yet managed to get precise measurements, his general facial characteristics suggest to me that Gennady Golovkin might have a very promising career in combat sports.

    Your racial theories are so passe. I've correctly predicted that almost every current world champion boxer had the the potential to be great, based solely on their facial characteristics, and I'm also full of ****.

    Oh come on. Gennady Golovkins racial background, nationality and patriotism are matters of record. Anyone who tries to use anyone else's background as tool to further their own agenda is a twat, plain and simple.

    If you'll forgive the previous, slightly pointed, post aimed at anyone who tries to use race as either a political tool or a means to judge a fighters ability. It is worth noting that the more traditionally warlike cultures on the fringes of the Russian Empire/Soviet Union/Modern Russia such as the Caucasus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine (home of many of the famed cossack tribes) are producing a disproportionate number of quality fighters.

    I could suggest a number of reasons why, but they have have more to do with wealth differentials, cultural tradition, and the residue of amateur sports excellence promoted in Soviet times than any genetic/racial explanation.

    Kazakhstan is not part of modern Russia. Do your research better

    The Korean Tigers were one of the most feared combat units in the Vietnam war. Maybe it was the other way around?

    GGG identified with Kazakhstan because he is Kazakhstan citizen, was born and raised there. Started boxing, achieved his results representing Kazakhstan! He wears kazakh national suit when he goes to the ring. He brings kazakh national flag with him. Kazakh national anthem plays before his fights. That makes him Kazakhstani above all else.

    He said to Russian reporter that he will never represent Russia because Russia is not his homeland. GGG's parents are from Kazakhstan, btw.

    Moreover, he said in front of the president of Kazakhstan: "My father is Russian, my mother is Korean, but I am Kazakh". Anything else?

    True, that his father is ethnically russian, but with this kind of logic does that make Mike Tyson a Nigerian (?) boxer?

    He can speak Russian. But that's because Kazakhstan is a former soviet country, kazakh language was under an embargo. And even kazakh people couldn't speak kazakh for a long time. They were forced to use Russian letters. But anyway GGG can speak kazakh, not fluent, but good enough to hold the conversation.

    @Koba

    Just kidding, bro. Chillax. No racial theorising here, just curiosity. Anyway, I've learned some interesting things about the former USSR in this thread.

    I'm not supporting GGG because of his race/ethnicity anyway but because he is a good, intelligent boxer and a nice person.

    @ Allexx

    Cheers, buddy.
